Position Summary
The Senior Manager of Facilities and Safety is responsible for overseeing the effective maintenance, operation, and safety standards across all company facilities. This leader will manage a team to ensure the distribution and manufacturing environments are kept in optimal working order, safe, and clean. This role includes coordinating and improving facility management, managing safety protocols, and driving initiatives to ensure regulatory compliance and best practices in workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities
Facilities Management
Lead, develop, and manage the facilities team to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient environment across all company sites.
Oversee facility maintenance programs, including routine inspections, preventive maintenance schedules, and timely repairs to minimize downtime.
Manage vendors and contractors for facility services, including cleaning, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other essential services.
Develop and manage the facilities budget, prioritizing resource allocation and cost-effective solutions to optimize operations.
Coordinate renovations, expansions, and facility improvement projects, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and compliance with building codes.
Implement policies and protocols to maintain cleanliness, organization, and operational efficiency within the facilities.
Safety Leadership
Lead the safety team to develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs across distribution, warehouse, and manufacturing environments.
Establish and maintain safety policies, procedures, and protocols that comply with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards and improve workplace safety.
Oversee safety training programs for employees, focusing on risk awareness, proper equipment use, emergency response, and incident reporting.
Investigate incidents, near-misses, and safety concerns to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Collaborate with department leaders to ensure a proactive culture of safety, encouraging team members to report issues and engage in safe practices.
Analyze safety data and trends to make informed decisions, reduce risks, and enhance employee well-being.
Team Leadership and Development
Recruit, train, and develop high-performing teams in facilities and safety management.
Set clear goals, expectations, and performance standards for team members and regularly provide coaching and feedback.
Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the facilities and safety teams.
Drive cross-departmental collaboration to ensure effective communication and alignment of safety and facility goals with broader organizational objectives.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Or equivalent experience.
7+ years of experience in facilities management and safety leadership, preferably within distribution and manufacturing environments.
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and facility maintenance best practices.
Proven ability to manage and develop teams, as well as to collaborate across departments.
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Experience managing budgets, negotiating with vendors, and overseeing facility improvement projects.

Requirements

Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
