General Description:
Administer an effective, efficient school business and operations program which provides the optimal educational program for all students.
Qualifications:
Valid Ohio Administrator or Business Manager license, preferred. Master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Business, Administration, Management, Finance, or related field, preferred. Successful experience as a school administrator or business official. Knowledge of Ohio School Law. Proficiency in computer skills and knowledge of applications necessary to access timely and relevant information and be able to disseminate same. Good health and good attendance record. Additional qualifications as the Board of Education may require.
Physical/Other Requirements:
Able to access all areas of District facilities, including the transportation center, school buses, district vehicles, maintenance and operations, appropriate classroom, and office areas. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Able to present information to individuals, small groups, and large groups in a clear and compelling manner. Able to work successfully with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and the community. Able to plan ahead, yet remain flexible enough to adapt to new situations or react to emergencies. Able to interact well with other people, but also able to work independently.
Performance Responsibilities (Essential Functions*):
*Administer the overall school business and operations program in accordance with District policies and administrative guidelines, Operating Standards for Ohio Schools, and the provisions of State and Federal law. Provide leadership in development, management, and accounting of the District's budget and appropriation processes in areas of assigned responsibility. Direct all activities and documentation of the District as it relates to District Safety and Security. Direct and supervise District support services. *Administer the District Facilities Master Plan, and direct District facilities and grounds renovations, maintenance, repairs, custodial service, and construction. *Participate in the recruitment, selection, retention, and development of District support personnel. Plan and conduct appropriate professional development programs and required staff training; supervise licensure and proper certification of staff. *Supervise assigned personnel, complete regular performance evaluations, and make employment recommendations for appropriate staff. * Maintain records as required by law, District policy, and administrative guidelines. Work in conjunction with Pupil Services to provide appropriate facilities and operational support for special needs students in accordance with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and/or other District-authorized accommodation plan. Manage all District real and personal property. *Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, staff, equipment, materials, and District facilities. Administer District safety, risk-reduction, and insurance programs. Develop and maintain positive relationships and timely communications with students, parents, District staff and the community. Participate in labor-management negotiations as assigned. Meet the professional expectations of attendance, suitable attire and decorum, participation in school and District meetings/functions, and support of District initiatives. Respond to specific requests from the Superintendent on matters affecting school business, facilities, and operations of the District.

Serve as a role model for students and staff in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible human beings. Instill in students and staff the belief in and practice of ethical principles and democratic values. Keep up-to-date and knowledgeable of District educational issues and school business, facilities, operations and safety-related matters. Perform other job functions as assigned.
Additional Working Conditions:
Frequent travel and/or evening/weekend work. Occasional operation of a vehicle under inclement weather conditions. Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue. Occasional interaction among unruly children.
