Position Summary:
The Director of Student Programs is responsible, in collaboration with the Associate Dean for Student Affairs, for ensuring the development and implementation of policies and procedures that impact student life and the personal and professional development of medical students as they progress through the MD program. The individual in this position is also responsible for the operational development, management, and oversight of student government, student organizations, and interest groups at the medical school. This individual will work closely with students, faculty, and university administration to ensure the smooth operation of student-led initiatives, while providing critical support for key events such as White Coat, Match Day, and Commencement ceremonies.

Position Summary:

Essential Functions:
- Develop and Implement Policies & Procedures: Establish and manage policies and procedures for student government and student organizations, ensuring compliance with institutional guidelines.
- Professional Development: In coordination with other advising functions in the Office of Student Affairs, provides guidance and support to medical students in areas of professional development related to their participation in student activities and organizations
- Student Governance Support: Collaborate with student leaders to create and update bylaws and organizational charters, fostering effective student governance. Serves as a staff advisor to the Medical Student Council and other student organizations.
- Documentation Management: Maintain consistent records and documents across student classes to ensure alignment and continuity in student activities and organizations.
- Event Coordination: Provide support to students in organizing and managing events, including securing venues, coordinating catering, and scheduling facilities.
- Budget Development & Oversight: Assist student organizations in developing and managing budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with university policies.
- Key Event Planning: Play a significant role in organizing and/or supporting, executing high-profile events such as White Coat ceremonies, Match Day, and Commencement.
- Liaison Role: Serve as the primary point of contact between the medical school and university student affairs offices, as well as student government bodies, ensuring clear communication and collaboration.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Higher education administration, Student Afairs, or related field with a five (5) years of higher education or related experience, or;
- Master's or PhD degree in Higher Educationa Administration, Student Afairs, or related field with a five (2) years of higher education or related experience.
