Results:
Works with the Corporate Controller in the oversight of the accounting function and serves as a technical resource for accounting issues as well as unique transactions. This includes assisting with the establishment, monitoring and maintenance of accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure financial reports accurately reflect the condition of the business and provide reliable information to manage operations.
Ensures maintenance of complete and accurate general ledgers and financial records for the entire enterprise.
Responsible for the consolidation and internal reporting of financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and existing debt agreements.
Responsible for the complete, accurate and timely preparation and submission of the Company's external financial reports in accordance with GAAP and applicable Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) guidelines. Also includes the accurate and timely preparation and issuance of the bank reporting requirements.
Responsible for the management of the interim reviews and annual audit as completed by the external audit engagement team.
Reviews account reconciliations for accuracy and consistency across entities.
Ad hoc support of management as requested.
SupportingActivities:
Monthly reporting, analysis, reconciliation and review of specific general ledger accounts including all related month-end closing responsibilities as well as related forecasting.
Assists with the maintenance of debt covenant compliance including forecasting future compliance. Responsible for calculating the debt covenant ratios in accordance with the corresponding debt agreements as well as the timely submission of all debt covenant compliance reporting to those so designated in the debt agreements.
Responsible for the maintenance of an adequate bonus accounting reserve and the calculation of the annual bonus payout percentages used by Human Resources to calculate individual employee bonuses.
Provides leadership, direct supervision, training and development of staff and ensures efficient and effective use of staff.
Required PriorAccomplishments, Experience, Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification desired.
Eight+ years of professional accounting experience, with at least five years in a managerial role.
Excellent working knowledge of GAAP and SEC rules as well as the ability to effectively do research and develop compliance recommendations.
Adept at using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Ability to use applicable financial and in-house software to do analysis, report generation and research required to support management and decision-making activities. Experience with an ERP system (JD Edwards, SAP, Oracle, etc.) preferred.
Proven analytical flexibility and adaptability. Able to sort through multiple options, find the best path forward and make recommendations accordingly.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
Must possess a strong work ethic and commitment to quality.
Searches for continuous improvement and moves change forward.
Ability to respond quickly and effectively to changing priorities.
Must possess excellent organization and project management skills.
Must have extremely high standards of being accountable for personal and team performance.
