Design Engineer - Hydraulic Sealing

Location: Aurora, IL or Mossville, IL

Responsibilities
  • Lead dynamic product development with responsibility for influencing and implementing sealing technology in hydraulic components.
  • Executing Hydraulic Component New Product Introduction (NPI) programs associated with new sealing solutions, skillfully analyze customer product performance challenges, and develop new technologies in a highly collaborative environment with the global sealing partners.
  • Leverage technical, commercial and project leadership skills to drive sealing.
  • Design control responsibility for hydraulic sealing products across the enterprise; accountable for meeting customer expectations for product cost, quality, and delivery (for example)
  • Contribute to multiple New Product Introduction (NPI) development projects, New Technology Integration (NTI) projects, and product cost/quality improvement projects.
  • Collaborate with supplier representatives, global/regional purchasing, and manufacturing facility teams to support the product velocity, quality & cost targets, conduct supplier process audits, evaluate sourcing, and complete PPAP/APQP process validation tasks.
  • Troubleshoot field failures, conduct analysis of warranty claims, and factory issues.
  • Complete parts analysis and technical reports as needed.
  • Mentor and train global teams on hydraulic sealing products, applications, and solutions.
  • Adapts documents and presentations for the intended audience.
  • Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Communicates reporting requirements; creates monitoring and control mechanisms.

Qualifications
  • Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
  • Education - Bachelor's degree or higher in accredited Engineering field
  • Experience - 10+ years of industry experience.
  • Master's degree (or equivalent) in an accredited Engineering curriculum
  • Degree in Polymer/Chemical or Mechanical Engineering field
  • Industry experience with polymer application engineering, global sources, and manufacturing processes
  • Application knowledge of mining and construction equipment
  • Hydraulic component design and development experience, familiar with cylinder applications
