We provide civil/site design and land surveying, environmental, geotechnical, construction administration & inspection, accident reconstruction, roofing/building envelope, A/V system design, troubleshooting & installation, transportation design (bridge/roadway), and specialized testing services to the construction industry.

We are looking for a Regional Service Line Manager | Construction Services (Central Ohio) who will be a key member, and Team Lead, of the Central Ohio Construction Services Team in performing construction project administration, management, and/or inspection for our clients. You'll leverage your extensive expertise and creative problem-solving skills while collaborating closely with institutions/municipal agencies, Architects, Engineers, Developers, and project teams to deliver customized construction management solutions. From initial concept development to final execution, this role will guide projects through every stage of the construction process, ensuring seamless integration and optimal results.

Highlights:
  • Sets goals and objectives for the Central Ohio Region to support the strategic initiatives of CTL Engineering.
  • Anticipates future business needs for Central Ohio Region and creates strategic action plans for solutions.
  • Leads the Central Ohio Region projects, including scheduling, due diligence, evaluation, construction, inspection and engineering quality assurance.
  • Projects are typically located within a 60-90 mile radius of the company office - but extensive travel is uncommon and no/very rare overnight travel is the norm.
    • A company vehicle can be provided or reimbursement for personal vehicle use.
  • In early 2025, we will be moving our corporate headquarters from the current location in west Columbus to our new office in New Albany.

Responsibilities:
  • Leads the Central Ohio Region projects, including scheduling, due diligence, evaluation, construction, inspection and engineering quality assurance.
  • Conducts project management-related activities, including; report writing and field work involving primarily Roadway/ODOT projects but could also include vertical and/or Water/Wastewater projects.
  • Participates in business development and contract negotiations for Central Ohio.
  • Coordinates efforts cross functionally to identify prospects, qualify prospects, make recommendations on projects to pursue and make final go/no go decisions.
  • Defines scope of work, serves as the technical expert/resource in preparing proposals, and manages projects.
  • Coordinates efforts in: making client contact and developing and retaining professional relationships, identifying prospects, qualifying prospects, making recommendations on projects to pursue and making final go/no go decisions. Developing strategy for winning assignments from targeted prospects with business development team, identifying appropriate staff, prepare statements of interest with assistance from the marketing team, etc.
  • Manages budgeting and project profitability by periodically reviewing project budgets and schedules, identifying budget concerns, coordinating and preparing supplemental requests, managing projects to budget, preparing staffing requirements and making the staffing assignments, monitoring performance and client satisfaction, preparing annual budgets, identifying capital equipment needs to support staff, etc.
  • Sets revenue goals for Central Ohio Region, oversees facets of operation, including maintaining client relationships and high-level project management.
  • Seeks feedback / opinion from clients and monitors client/customer business relationships to ensure success.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of quality standards, management of teams and project management.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, profit and loss statements and financial standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with internal and external customers.
  • Marketing/Business Development experience, with a Doer/Seller ability/attitude.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience/education required.
  • 10+ years of experience in consulting engineering on various civil projects, particularly in managing field and laboratory testing of soil, concrete, aggregate and asphalt.
  • P.E. credentialing is not required but is a plus.
  • ACI certification is a plus.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be willing to travel, and be physically able to maneuver on open terrain.
