W.G. Yates & Sons Construction Company has one opening available for the position of BIM/VDC Project Manager with the following qualifications:
Requires U.S. Bachelor's or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related field. Also requires two years of experience as an architectural designer in: developing concept and schematic designs and construction document phases for multimillion-dollar residential and commercial projects; developing Building Information Modeling (BIM) models for preconstruction and construction phases including design specifications and architectural layouts; and resolving MEP-relevant design problems. Periodic relocation to unanticipated client construction sites anywhere in the U.S. every 9 to 24 months. Background check and drug test required.
Job duties for the position include:
Plan, design, and coordinate the development of Building Information Modeling (BIM) models for preconstruction and construction phases of large-scale multimillion dollar construction projects. Develop construction plans and the associated baseline schedules for construction activities through the effective utilization of BIM and VDC planning and scheduling software, project management and resource planning software. Manage BIM content developing maintenance, procedures, and approvals. Conduct feasibility studies on construction sequence and issues and ensure that clashes are detected, resolved and coordinated to help work progress in the field. Conduct BIM/VDC project work, including BIM/VDC conversion projects for owners, contractors, and other consultants. Collect models from Architects, Engineers, and trade contractors, to ensure that drawings in Procore align and are clash-free. Develop and update Building Information Modeling (BIM) models to support field operations. This includes configuring the project collaboration site or tool, and sharing models with the design team, MEP subcontractors, and field personnel. Confer with engineers and client representatives to discuss project status, ensuring that each project aligns with its estimated timeline. Federate models for clash detection, constructability reviews, and 4D schedule simulation. Confer with design team to update models and distribute all model information for use in the field during construction. Provide 4D BIM support, instruction, and complex troubleshooting for construction sequencing simulation, MEP systems, logistics planning and visualization. Inspect and monitor building project sites for fidelity to the latest project designs and industry standards. Manage and update models to maintain As-Builts status for turnover to clients. Implement and utilize augmented reality for verification of work put in place.
