Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Graduation from an accredited graduate school with a master's degree in clinical social work, clinical psychology or related human service.

Licensure Required: Licensed as Clinical Social Worker, Mental Health Counselor or Marriage & Family Therapist in the State of FLExperience: Five years of clinical program supervisory experience.

Driving Requirements: Must have a valid Florida driver's license and a driving record that is acceptable to Suncoast Center.

Additional Requirements: Must be able to complete a level II background screening and local county screenings with acceptable results prior to hire and throughout employment and pre-employment drug test in compliance with Florida Law, prior to hire and throughout employment. Must be at least 21 year of age. Must be able to provide official transcripts directly from the college.

Working Conditions: Indoor work, in the community. Requires both indoor and outdoor work; exposure to extreme heat and humidity in the summer; work schedule may be irregular for off-site meetings, community coverage - on-call hours required, or if emergencies arise.

Computer Literate: Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe and other software packages; calculator; mail machine; copier, Medical Records System, HRIS system knowledge required.

Job Duties:
  • Performs as a leadership member of the Management Team, participates in decision-making process and carries out the decisions of the Executive Team and the Management Team.
  • Writes, oversees and directs the development of policies and procedures for the specific program and agency to ensure quality care and compliance with funder/payer or accreditation body, and works with the Management Team and Quality Improvement Team for approval processes. Provides leadership and guidance for staff through appropriate utilization and implementation of the policies and procedures. Participates in management team and QIC efforts to review trends in the agency and industry for the future of the agency.
  • Monitors trends in agency programmatic performance/outcomes, i.e., client satisfaction, program goals and objectives, treatment effectiveness/efficiency, and reports to Chief Operating Officer, Management Team, and Quality Improvement Committee.
  • Ensures that all programming is audit ready, leads and participates in site visits and audits for agency visits and for all programming within chain of command.
  • Collaborates and supports other members of Clinical Director Team to ensure effective coverage of all agency areas.
  • Represents the agency, COO, CEO, and common initiatives at Community meetings and works towards enhancing community partnerships and service delivery.
  • Ensures the flow of information both horizontally and vertically to better utilize resources and increase equality and productivity of the program.
  • Develops and/ or participates in the development of proposals and grant applications for new and ongoing programs.
  • Ensures the implementation all standards including Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic practices, CARF standards, Florida Council Against Sexual Violence certification standards, and all DCF guidance document standards for related programing.
  • Directs and oversees the Managers support, planning, development, direction and implementation of assigned Suncoast Center's client services programming and coordinates with the other clinical directors to ensure successful and collaborative flow of processes.
  • Ensures that all levels of care within chain of command are functioning at their best. Promotes a data driven approach for the managers within the command chain.
  • Ensures managers provide:
    • Coordination of information and referrals both within and outside Suncoast Center to insure integrated service delivery and continuity of care for clients.
    • Recruitment, screening, hiring and orientation and training of new staff.
    • Ongoing supervision and professional development of staff.
    • Effective monitoring of revenue and expense reports of programs and institutes corrective action as appropriate to insure compliance with budgetary goals.
    • Effective Monitoring of productivity of program staff on an ongoing basis and institutes corrective action to insure compliance.
    • Review of clinical records for quality, quantity and performance and provides feedback to staff and/or managers.
    • Effective and meaningful performance evaluations relating to core competencies and staff development.
  • Hires, supports, and trains supervisors within the chain of command.
  • Uses innovative and creative methods to promote quality clinical services.
  • Completes meaningful performance evaluations with staff in a timely manner, relating to core competencies, specific job assignments and areas for growth. Accurately assesses staff training and supervision needs/assures training and supervision process. Offers staff flex-time. Is aware of employee's individual needs and desires, and attempts to meet these needs as appropriate. Offers encouragement and praise on an ongoing basis.
  • Uses supervision techniques, which are effective in establishing the desired organizational climate of trust, creativity and autonomy, using sound methods of independent and cooperative decision-making. Uses data in supervision in a way that is easily understood by staff and that is practical and readily useable. Also, recognizes and makes accommodations for the work duties and extra assignments.
  • Promotes effective teamwork adequate to the competitive environment, including flexibility, creativity and cohesiveness.
