SALARY: Starting at $81,500 - $84,000 Annually
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Hybrid, 2-3 Days/Week In Office
POSITION SUMMARY:
This engaging role is part of a newly centralized Data and Analytics team at Second Harvest Heartland (SHH) and will serve as the primary analyst for the Development and Volunteer Engagement Departments. This position contributes meaningfully to the organization by examining and analyzing donor, fundraising, and volunteer data to discover new insights leading to organizational excellence, efficiency, and growth supporting the organization's strategic plan. In this role you will consult with, and provide reporting, analysis, and actionable recommendations to business teams. You will partner with like-minded analysts to innovate, transform, and advance data intelligence across the organization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be a data expert and thought partner for our Development and Volunteer Engagement teams. Provide reporting and analysis to drive revenue generation and volunteer engagement.
- Develop and maintain dashboards (PowerBI, RENXT) and reporting to track key performance metrics, inform business team decisions and guide fundraising strategies.
- Uncover data insights to optimize our volunteer engagement program. Analyze retention rates, shift schedules, and volunteer demographics to drive efficiency and growth.
- Query and analyze large datasets to uncover trends, identify opportunities, and troubleshoot discrepancies, helping us better understand and serve our donors, volunteers, clients, and business partners.
- Develop expertise in data platforms (Raiser's Edge NXT, Galaxy Digital, Bonterra/EveryAction).
- Lead analytics projects from start to finish, translating analysis and presenting unbiased insights and recommendations to stakeholders
- Maintain documentation of reporting requirements, data flows, and business rules. Support cross-training efforts.
- Work as a team to develop and maintain standard data and reporting practices to ensure accuracy and consistency across reports and departments.
- Collaborate on data literacy and data quality improvement initiatives.
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and productive work environment.
- Uphold SHH data security and privacy policies, partner data security, and privacy provisions.
- Other duties, as assigned.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- A combination of education and experience generally attained through a bachelor's degree in an analytical field (mathematics, statistics, business, economics, marketing, etc.) and a minimum of 3 years' experience in a related field.
- Proficient in data analysis, reporting, and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel, SQL, Tableau).
- Experience with CRM/ERP systems (e.g., Raiser's Edge, NetSuite).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to recognize and interpret patterns and anomalies in data.
- Proficient in data extraction, modeling data joins, designing reports and dashboards.
- Well-organized, with exceptional attention to accuracy, detail, and follow through.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to connect data insights to business goals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Comfortable taking on unfamiliar work and seeking out knowledge/solutions.
- High degree of integrity, ethical decision-making and sound business judgment.
- Willingness and enthusiasm for innovation, change, and learning new tools/applications.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Non-profit experience, specifically in fundraising reporting and analytics
- Experience with Raiser's Edge NXT, Galaxy Digital, Luminate Online, Bonterra
- Experience with technical transitions impacting reporting/analytics (e.g. transitioning to new CRM/software or shifting from decentralized to centralized cloud data warehousing)
- Familiarity with statistics and predictive modeling concepts
