About Our District
The Madison Metropolitan School District is the second largest school district in Wisconsin. The district serves a beautifully diverse population of more than 27,000 students. More than half are students of color. Almost half come from low income households. Nearly one third are English Language Learners, and more than 100 languages are represented in our schools. Purpose of Position:
The Human Resources Recruitment Specialist, under the leadership of the Human Resources Staffing Manager is responsible for identifying and attracting top talent for all MMSD positions by coordinating and implementing recruitment, and employment programs to ensure the availability of qualified applicants to meet District operating needs. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to identify top-level talent through a variety of sourcing/recruiting techniques and will proactively source passive candidates using internal/external networking, university partnerships and a variety of current social media strategies. The individual in this position will also be responsible for engaging with local universities and colleges to support prospective teachers through their participation in practicum and student teaching opportunities within the district. This is a highly visible position that requires the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
A. Recruitment Strategies
Develop and implement comprehensive recruitment strategies to attract high-quality candidates for various positions within the district Create and share job advertisements on various job boards, websites, and social media platforms to increase visibility of open positions Proactively source and identify potential candidates through various channels, including online databases, networking events, referrals, and professional associations Serve as the main point of contact throughout the recruitment process, providing timely updates.
B. College Recruiting and Community Involvement
Coordinate and implement college recruiting initiatives- to include teacher-student pipeline Build and develop partnerships with community organizations/groups and college/university contacts Participate in career fairs, job fairs, and other recruitment events to promote the school district as an employer of choice Coordinates and participates in external recruiting efforts, including maintaining relationships with schools, associations, and other recruiters and represents the District at selected job and recruitment fairs. Develops and implements local district recruitment fairs based on identified District needs.
C. Human Resources and Talent Management
Assist HR Analysts with identifying recruitment needs Provide recommendations that align with education recruitment trends Prepare and present reports on recruitment metrics, including time-to-fill, cost per hire, and source effectiveness to measure the success of recruitment efforts Use analytics to identify characteristics associated with successful hires and use this data to evaluate recruitment needs Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of recruitment and retention activities Ensure compliance with relevant district policies throughout the recruitment and retention process
D. District Branding and Candidate Experience
Contribute to the development and enhancement of the district's brand to attract top talent Create a positive and engaging experience for candidates throughout the recruitment process, by providing timely feedback, and updates to candidates/Performs other related duties as assigned by the HR Senior Executive Director Participates in the district employee engagement and recognition programs

Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively across multiple departments and levels with a minimum of direction or supervision. Strong negotiation and presentation skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field Minimum of three years of recruiting experience with a large employer or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities Experience with community partnerships Excellent verbal and written communication skills with diverse audiences Experience building strong working relationship with hiring managers and other stakeholders

Working Conditions
Work requires travel to different locations within the district and to off-site meetings. Travel will also be required to implement the roles and responsibilities of the position with approximately 15% related to regional and national recruitment opportunities. The position requires working evenings, nights, and some weekends.
