Job Summary
The Director of Operations for Gulliver Advancement provides leadership, direction, and oversight for all operational aspects of the organization. Leading operational efficiencies and integration across core strategic themes of Marketing, Operations, Development and Future Planning. This role handles a wide range of matters on behalf of the Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) contributing to the design and execution of strategic initiatives and sharing responsibility for organizational achievements. As a key member of the Team, the Director of Operations develops strategies and policies for the division, aligning with Gulliver's vision and strategic plan. This position requires building strong collaborative relationships across the organization to achieve institutional goals and objectives.
Strategic Leadership: Provide oversight and direction for all operational areas of the organization. Work with the leadership to develop and implement strategies to enhance organizational effectiveness and efficiency. Collaborate with the Team in institutional planning and policy analysis. Align divisional strategies with Gulliver's overall vision and strategic plan.
Operational Management: Oversee daily operations with a focus on data, prospect optimization and integration with Marketing/Comm, Development, Alumni and Events. Develop and maintain policies, processes, and standards to maximize effectiveness and information sharing. Ensure continuous improvement in operational processes through regular evaluation and learning.
Financial Oversight: Manage department budget and monitor organizational spending with the Finance Team to ensure a strong fiscal position and cost to raise a dollar. Create and implement tools and reports to support informed decision-making. Foster improved efficiency and fiscal responsibility across the organization.
Collaboration and Communication: Build and maintain strong relationships within and outside the organization to achieve institutional goals. Facilitate collaboration within and across internal departments including collaboration with admissions and school leaderships. Represent the CAO in various capacities as needed. Ensure effective two-way communication between the Team and all organizational constituencies.
Administrative Oversight: Provide leadership and direction for key administrative operational areas, including Improve administrative policies, internal controls, standards, and procedures across the division. Establish metrics and measurement systems to quantify performance against goals.
Data and Analytics: Provide strategic vision for prospect optimization, data management, analytics, and business intelligence to make informed decisions to lead us to fundraising goals. Manage moves management process, increase methods of giving, gift agreement process, naming guidelines, etc. Oversee donor database management, gift processing, and reporting. Implement strategies for effective data management to support fundraising and engagement goals. Feeding the pipeline tied to those aligned with funding priorities.

Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supervises Campaign Manager and Gifts Administrator, and coordinates work activities of subordinates and staff, including hiring, coaching, evaluating, and terminating.
- Acts as a subject matter expert for assigned system(s).
- Creates reports as requested by senior leadership.
- Develops and runs reports in Access from the Banner Advancement module.
- Works with other areas such as Enrollment and Student Services and Alumni Affairs to ensure that alumni records are properly updated.
- Generates lists, and reports from the system to support development, special events, public affairs, publications, and alumni affairs.
- Modifies existing databases and database management systems or directs programmers and analysts to make changes.
- Tests programs or databases, corrects errors, and makes necessary modifications.
- Directs daily operations of department, analyzing workflow, establishing priorities, developing standards and setting deadlines.
- Oversees the daily performance of assigned computer system(s).
- Meets with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and others, to solicit cooperation and resolve problems.
- Develops and implements processes and reports to audit data quality, ensure accuracy, and increase productivity.
- Answers telephone calls to assist computer users encountering problems.
- Develops training materials and procedures, and trains users in the proper use of hardware or software.
- Maintains employee data integrity and confidentiality.

- Completes special projects and other duties as assigned or required. This includes needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of user satisfaction.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in related field.
