POSITION SUMMARY:

The BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) is responsible for conducting functional behavior assessments and developing behavior treatment plans based on these assessments. The BCBA will work with the staff to ensure the effective implementation of treatment/behavior plans. JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Conduct functional behavior assessments to analyze and understand challenging behaviors.

2. Develop and implement behavior treatment plans tailored to each child's unique needs, that are evidenced-based collaboration with the interdisciplinary team

3. Provides ongoing monitoring and evaluation of behavior intervention effectiveness, adjusting strategies as needed

4. Collaborates with caregivers, parents, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure consistent implementation of behavior plans

5. Develop and provide education and training for hospital staff on behavior management techniques and strategies

6. Stays abreast of the latest research and evidence-based practices in applied behavior analysis (ABA) to enhance treatment approaches

7. Maintains accurate and detailed records of assessments, interventions, and progress tracking for each patient

8. Actively participates in Master Treatment Planning (MTP), team meetings, and contributes to the overall treatment planning process

9. Ensures compliance with ethical standards and applicable regulations in the provision of behavior analysis

10. Provides individual and/or group behavioral interventions for patients and their families under the patient's interdisciplinary treatment plan.

11. Provides behavioral assessments, data assessments, psycho-educational instructions, and behavioral analyses to identify and treat handicapping conditions that may interfere with other therapeutic successes.

12. Identifies and coordinates resolution of areas of concern or conflict with patients' families, as these concerns or conflicts pertain to a patient's care in a professional, proactive, and courteous manner.

13. Communicates with the clinical services department and coordinates intervention with all therapy departments to achieve cohesion and effectiveness as an integrated, empirically-supported, specialized rehabilitation program.

14. Provides short-term, solution-focused individual, group, and family behavior-analytic services for an inpatient medical population directed by physicians.

15. Participates in discharge planning and provides recommendations for services post-discharge.

16. Participates in marketing to the community and educating surrounding hospitals in coordination with the marketing team.

17. Provides supervision to RBTs (Registered Behavioral Techs) and behavior therapy interns to monitor the implementation of behavioral aspects of the interdisciplinary treatment plans and safeguard the delivery of behavioral services to patients.

18. Performs other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:
A Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology or a related field required

EXPERIENCE:
Training and experience developing, training, implementing, and monitoring written behavioral programs.
A minimum of two (2) years working in an inpatient hospital setting is preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification
Must be certified in AHA BLS/CPR
SAMA (Satori Alternatives for Managing Aggression) Certification
