JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Therapy Services, the Business Support Services Manager will oversee the daily operations of the insurance verification and authorization team. They will also be responsible for providing insightful business analytics and metric reports to drive outpatient therapy services. Will possess strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage and train staff effectively. The role of the Business Support Services Manager is key to ensuring that clinics provide exceptional patient service and maintain efficient administrative operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role, preferably in physical therapy or outpatient services.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in business analytics and reporting.
  • Proficiency in using data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, BI tools).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of insurance verification and authorization processes is highly desirable.

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE

Category I exposure to blood borne pathogens may encounter chemical hazards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervision and Team Management:
    • Oversee the insurance verification and authorization team, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of patient insurance information.
    • Provide training, support, and performance evaluations for team members.
    • Develop and implement standard operating procedures to enhance team productivity and accuracy. Manage time, attendance and staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage during clinic hours.
    • Address and resolve any staff conflicts or issues promptly and professionally.
  • Business Analytics and Reporting:
    • Create and maintain comprehensive business analytics and metric reports specific to the outpatient therapy business.
    • Generate productivity reports, operational reports, and P&L (Profit and Loss) reports for various service lines.
    • Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and areas of concern.
  • Operational Support:
    • Collaborate with clinic managers and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of business objectives and operational goals.
    • Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support decision-making processes.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
    • Work in partnership with the Clinical Support team to ensure unparalleled customer service.
  • Billing and Insurance Compliance:
    • Oversee and ensure that billing and insurance practices are up to date according to appropriate Federal, State and Commercial contract rules and regulations.
    • Monitor and reconcile reports, invoices and data to ensure accurate and timely billing and payments.
    • Collaborate with the accounting team to facilitate timely and accurate invoicing and payment for services.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of insurance verification and authorization procedures.
    • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to ensure the organization remains competitive and compliant.
