JOB SUMMARY: Responsible
for the evaluation of patients referred for Occupational Therapy, formulation
of a plan of care, and administration of Occupational Therapy treatments. The staff Occupational Therapist shall
interact with all hospital departments, and medical staff. Maintain the highest degree of
confidentiality in all areas involving patients and their related hospital
business. Conduct hospital business in
an ethical and lawful manner, and is willing to report any knowledge of real or
potential fraud or abuse according to the NIHD Compliance Code of Conduct. Abide by the NIHD Personnel, Payroll Policies
and Procedures. Abide by Departmental
Policies and Procedures, and standards of performance and conduct.
JOB RELATIONSHIPS:
1. Reports directly to Director of
Rehabilitation Services.
2. Works closely with physicians, patients,
family, other staff, nursing, other hospital departments, and with other
referral
agencies.
3. Is responsible for the Activities Assistant position, as it pertains to
recreational activities with NIHD Swing Bed patients.
Provides feedback into the
performance of others.
Qualifications:
Required:
BLS within 2
month of hire and on-going.
Interpersonal
skills necessary in order to instruct/comfort patients/families; to maintain
effective communication/contact with healthcare team members.
Analytical skills
necessary in order to prioritize workload and develop solutions to problems concerning
patient's body, mind, and spirit.
Basic computer
knowledge including: Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word and Intranet.
Ability to learn
Computer software programs including: McKesson Clinical Care Station, Policy
Manager, OneSource, HPF, and One Content.
Must be able to
understand, read, write and speak English.
32 to 40 hours a week

program of Occupational Therapy and holding a current Occupational Therapy
license in the State of California.
