Summary
Responsible for the operational processes in the Accounting department and ensuring the accuracy of all general ledger accounts. The Senior Accountant will work very closely with the VP of Finance to streamline all accounting processes and will be responsible for job costing and monitoring inventory. The Senior Accountant will interface with outside audit firms(s), banks and lessors, casualty/liability insurance agent(s), credit card companies, and collection agencies as identified. This position will also assist in the preparation and distribution of financial statements and help to ensure that all deliverables comply with regulatory guidance and professional standards.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance and four years of related experience in Accounting and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have three plus years of Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. Must have experience with cost accounting and sales tax preparation Must be familiar with standard accounting concepts, practices, procedures, and principals; skilled at using database, spreadsheet, and word processing software to prepare statistical and written reports; and have strong customer service skills and multitasking abilities.
Computer Skills
Proficient with a personal computer, word processing programs, as well as strong skills/experience working with databases, spreadsheets, and presentation software and ability to type.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional reports and documents, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to effectively prepare and present information in one-on-one and small group situations to management, customers, and other employees of the organization. Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Must be able to write professional reports, documentation, and correspondence.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to apply concepts of arithmetic, algebra, and statistics and their applications.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to assimilate information from diverse sources to form a complete situational picture and develop a plan of action to accomplish tasks. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Responsibilities will include overseeing the accounts receivable and accounts payable functions as well as cost accounting work, and preparing monthly lead sheets for management review.
- Monthly reconciliation of inventory accounts.
- Weekly sales reporting and operational metrics.
- Perform various cost accounting functions including analysis, maintenance of material, labor and overhead rates.
- Investigate variances and produce weekly variance reports.
- Maintain & update the depreciation schedules for the Company and its subsidiaries.
- Oversee the Company's daily, weekly and monthly and year- end closings.
- Timely completion of payroll entries, commissions and tax reporting.
- Accounting, reporting and assisting with preparation of consolidation of the Company's subsidiaries and international operations.
- Establish and maintain the ERP system as it pertains to the accounting department.
- Provide back-up for accounts receivable and payable functions.
- Assist in any system or program upgrades of the companies ERP system and other systems such as CRM.
- Assist on special projects as needed.
