The Originator reports to the Director of Origination but will also take leadership and guidance from members of the Origination Team. They will be responsible for assisting in identifying and bringing strategic opportunities, new product and business development, and wholesale relationships to Origination Team for discussion and consideration. In conjunction, they will also support daily activities of the Origination Team providing insight and analytical assistance where needed. The Originator will provide support to existing accounts in the portfolio with a directive to actively seek viable prospects in designated growth areas. The Originator will work closely with the Strategic Account Managers to ensure alignment in providing superior customer service to our portfolio.

This position is responsible to sell natural gas directly and through consultant relationships to high value, complex and strategic deals across our entire service territory. These would include substantial industrial customers (Over 1 BCF or $4 Million in Revenue), municipalities, direct connects and strategic deals as identified throughout the southeast.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Assist Origination Team to explore new service offerings to industrial customers.
  • Assist Origination Team to develop and execute expansion into new markets.
  • Work with Origination Team to develop and execute expansion into new markets.
  • Demonstrate trust, responsiveness, value, and expert level market knowledge by engaging with identified customers, consultants, and industry associations.
  • Build and maintain successful relationships as assigned.
  • Support sales activities outside the office such as trade shows, business expos, and customer meetings.
  • Provide support to the current customer portfolio for renewals, triggers, etc.
  • Actively pursue viable prospects in targeted growth areas.
  • Be a liaison between the Strategic Accounts Managers and the Origination Team as it pertains to renewals, triggers and data collection.
  • Develop relationships with internal functions that support the Origination Business.

Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in sales or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of field work with Natural Gas Producers.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with Asset Management Customers.
  • Effective at building and leveraging internal, external and cross-functional relationships to achieve goals.

Preferred Experience
  • Knowledge of the natural gas market across Southeast.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to identify risks and manage them.
  • High Attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and fast-past environment.
