Position Summary: This position is the key technical leader in the management, configuration and customization of MFB's new Operation Innovate cloud platform, which encompasses our ERP, warehouse management, route planning and order entry applications. Successful teammates in this role fill a variety of ERP support requirements for the organization and must possess strong analytical skills to optimize our NetSuite instance and its related systems. This individual will interface with functional and technical leaders to ensure that our ERP solution functions seamlessly as we work to end hunger for more Marylanders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

ERP Platform Management and User Support (40%)
  • Technical Leadership: responsible for proactive administration of NetSuite and key systems integrated with NetSuite (including Warehouse Management, Transportation Logistics and Accounts Payable), ensuring audit compliance in functional and technical processes.
  • Roles and Security: Manages and develops custom NetSuite permission roles to enforce security and promote ease of use. Ensures systems meet security audit and compliance standards. Manages employee access through a robust onboarding and offboarding process. Tracks and manages NetSuite Licensing.
  • Configuration: Configures systems to meet daily operational needs and continual service improvements. Supports strategic projects and performs related testing within the ERP platform.
  • System Performance: Monitors system performance ensuring minimal downtime. Troubleshoots technical ERP platform issues; observes, isolates and fixes system issues, engaging with software vendors and implementation partners as required. Identifies and resolves technical issues or escalates incidents as appropriate to the Senior Manager of Information Technology.
  • System Maintenance: Manages change management process for new releases on systems, including communication and training of users on system changes and related impact to processes. Plans regression testing of semi-annual NetSuite releases and other related cloud ERP platforms.
  • Training: Consults with functional leads to ensure training materials and methods are consistent with current system configuration, and updates related training collateral as needed.

ERP Platform Enhancement and Integrations (20%)
  • Manages enhancement and feature requests by documenting requirements, prioritizing and assigning work within the ERP team and with external vendor resources.
  • Develops, tests, implements and maintains customization of ERP systems to meet evolving business needs, including workflows, reports, saved searches, dashboards, form layouts and commerce portal.
  • Manages, documents and configures system workflows, scripts, specific fields, forms, records, searches, reports and integrations with third party applications/databases
  • Updates documentation as part of any changes related to system maintenance changes or enhancements. Works with functional team members to establish and maintain contextual help with NetSuite and other integrated applications.

ERP Thought Leadership (20%)
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end MFB business models, technical systems and how they interact with the Finance, Programs and Operations teams.
  • Supports operational excellence by contributing to the continuous improvement of the environment, processes and procedures.
  • Works collaboratively with SMEs to define business cases, mapping process flows and re-engineering processes when necessary.
  • Works with functional users with varying level of technical ability to translate their input into technical requirements that drive system enhancements.
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of NetSuite system functionality, customization and integrations.
  • Provides leadership though creative solutions and optimization strategies within NetSuite and integrated cloud technologies.

Data Management (20%)
  • Maintains data integrity within the NetSuite instance and integrated applications, including reporting hierarchies, balance controls and data quality.
  • Collaborates with functional, strategic teams and fellow data stewards to define and maintain MFB-wide data standards, data governance, cross-functional reporting and business intelligence.

Additional and Related Duties
  • Aids other team members as required and participates in after hours and weekend support as required for special projects, technical training and events.


Supervisory Responsibility:

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

The employee will carry out some of the job duties from a warehouse environment with fluctuation in temperatures and potential for loud noise and will carry out the rest of the job duties either in a professional office environment with little fluctuation in temperatures and low noise or may carry out some of the job duties at client sites. For these offsite duties, the employee travels by automobile and will be exposed to changing weather and noise conditions.

Infrequently travels to other Maryland Food Bank sites. (Majority of work will be at the Maryland Food Bank headquarters, with occasional travel to Eastern Shore and Western Maryland.)

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee regularly is required to stand, walk, sit, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. High use of a computer keyboard may require repetitive hand motion.

Physically able to lift/move 25 lbs.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Math, Accounting, Logistics, Data Analytics or a related field.
  • 4+ years of NetSuite administration and technical support, including Suite Commerce Advanced, Sales, Financial, Inventory, and Purchasing modules.
  • Experience with warehouse management and transportation logistics systems preferred.
  • Experience with logistics, supply chain and distribution industries preferred.
  • Enterprise CRM and ERP database design and report development experience preferred.
  • NetSuite Administrator Certification preferred.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Functional knowledge of accounting principles and their relation to NetSuite.
  • Practical experience in the analysis, design, and implementation of technical projects, including experience with the completion of business and functional design documents.
  • Proficient with using and supporting Windows (required) and MacOS (desired) systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products and general PC maintenance
  • Excellent verbal/written communications skills, specifically the relaying of important technical information in a manner that non-technical employees can easily understand while remaining concise.
  • Active learner that seeks knowledge and stays current with NetSuite and related cloud technologies.
  • Aptitude for systematic problem solving and have demonstrated an ability to prioritize and plan.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously according to criticality.
