We are seeking a self-starting environmental, health and safety professional who desires a challenging role where they will collaborate with others, continuously learn and implement improvements to our processes. This person will work closely with our manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure ISO14001 and government requirements are met. Qualified individuals must have technical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment and will also possess strong organizational and administrative skills. What You'll Be Doing:
Work under direction of EHS & Training Manager for planning and implementation of safety and environmental programs to prevent unsafe working conditions on the plant floor. Works with technical resources as the subject matter expert on safety solutions and advises on controlling potential environmental, safety and health hazards. Works together with safety resources, agencies, and management to identify issues and improve adherence to safety rules. Assists in safety training regarding behavior change and compliance. Leads company in environmental related activities to ensure compliance on all regulatory levels.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others as assigned.
Schedule: This exempt position will primarily work five days per week, eight hours per day. Primary schedule will be 8am-4:30pm Monday to Friday or similar.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others as assigned.
- Serves as safety Subject Matter Expert for equipment technology and best practices.
- Manage Safety and Environmental components of ISO14001.
- Responsible for safety planning and approval of new equipment install or relocation. Evaluates safety features and safety processes.
- Leads safety compliance for safety program (i.e., Lock Out/ Tag Out)
- Assists in safety training programs regarding health & safety compliance through OJT safety training in critical programs.
- Assist with Incident/ Accident investigations with plant management team.
- Improves safety culture and performance.
- Promote behaviors to achieve the higher level of productivity in safest manner possible.
- Works in cooperation with technical resources on safety repairs and corrective actions.
- Monitors enforcement on the floor for safety plans, procedures, and environmental regulations.
- Conducts routine audits and inspections and ensures others are complying.
- Work in coordination with on- site safety coordinators, supervisors and management to perform process and equipment audits.
- Lead identification of root cause / corrective action for incidents or accidents
- Track Open Shop Floor Safety items identified during audits or safety committee meetings.
- Monitors environmental and safety program issues that crossover, e.g., chemical handling, spill, and storage processes.
- Conducts risk assessments through job hazard analysis (JSA's).
- Benchmark and network with external resources to stay in tune with new solutions that will continually improve safety performance and culture.
- Participates in meetings to enhance safety and health initiatives; promotes and cascades communicates accordingly.
- Responsible for renewal or obtaining permitting for water, air, and all wastes as falls under state and federal regulation.
- Coordinating removal of different wastes according to state and federal compliance.
- Respond to customer material declaration requests when necessary.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Computer technical skills including Microsoft office products and ability to learn new software.
- Commutable distance, work onsite Jeff.
- Ability to travel up to 10%. Valid drivers' license. Possibly International.
- Minimum of 2 years in manufacturing environment.
- OSHA audit and inspections
- Environmental programs and permits.
- Job hazard analysis and new equipment installation safety approval process
- Accident investigation and corrective action implementation
- Strong knowledge of ergonomics, machine guarding, lockout & other mfg. processes
- US Person as defined by ITAR / EAR
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in environmental health and safety or Engineering from four-year College or university
- ISO 14001 and Experience in transportation manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
- Experience with metal forming, powder coating and heat-treating processes.
- Train-the-trainer experience, experience creating and exhibiting presentations and public speaking.
