THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Director of FP&A at MNG is responsible for key financial processes including forecasting, budget planning, performance reporting, business strategic analysis, acquisition due diligence and analysis, and other ad hoc analysis. The leader will oversee a team of financial analysts and assist in managing, coaching and growing the team to support the sales and operational functions. The ideal candidate resides in a commutable distance from Walton Hills, OH for a 1X weekly, hybrid schedule.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for forecasting, reporting and analytical processes, as well as long-range financial plans and models. This Director of FP&A reports to the VP of Finance/Corporate Controller and will assist in collaborating with the executive leadership team to identify actionable trends, issues and opportunities.

This position will:
  • Optimize the financial planning processes, including the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), quarterly forecasts and ad hoc assessments for M&A activities, for impact and accountability.
  • Engage with executive and business unit leadership to collaborate on reporting and analysis needs for product line, customer segmentation and key initiatives
  • Key role in strategic projects related to valuation and financial modeling
  • Maintain financial reporting systems, ensuring the efficient day to day operation of FP&A activities
  • Provide feedback and coaching to team for continued growth and development
  • Assists with the integration of new acquisitions
  • Design and implement appropriate policies, internal controls and procedures
  • Develop team members to become key in supporting the business needs in sales and operations
  • Incorporate technology advancements to improve the speed and efficiency of data analysis, and expanding the capabilities of BI working in tandem with and developing our current ERP system (JDE).
  • Responsible for monthly inventory reconciliation process.
  • Actively participate in cost changes implemented on a monthly basis.

The successful candidate will:
  • Have strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly collect, organize, analyze and explain information with an attention to detail and accuracy
  • M&A and related integrations experience is a strong asset
  • Be proficient in working with large data sets and/or databases to perform analysis and create visual data
  • Build a strong bench by continuing to develop direct and indirect reports to support double digit growth in the business
  • Establish KPI's to drive and report on performance
  • Work in tandem with business leader and take accountability for analytical, critical thinking surrounding key initiatives that will take NMG into new markets with new products.
  • Develop metrics to track company-wide trends, identify opportunities, provide recommendations and collaborate across all levels
  • Demonstrate an ability to leverage technology to further automate processes to support growth initiatives and reduce non-value add work
  • Supervise assigned team members, including providing department and/or project orientation, and day-to-day guidance.
  • Make recommendations regarding employment, performance appraisals, salary changes, promotions, and transfers for team members reporting to you.
  • Encourage and facilitate opportunities for on-going professional development for all team members.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in financial planning, analysis and management
  • Experience with financial reporting tools such as SQL, PowerBI, or other data tools


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
  • Experience in financial planning and reporting for a complex, umbrella organization
  • Strong ability to communicate and influence both upwards and downwards
  • Track record of success running multiple critical projects; exceeding expectations in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working in private equity environment
  • Prior experience with OneStream or other consolidation tool; BI tools
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize within a changing business environment
  • Very strong Excel skills with a passion for technology
  • An understanding of modern FP&A concepts and methodologies
  • Understanding of Distribution businesses, with an expanding hub and spoke distribution center / branch network along with increasing last-mile delivery requirements.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Approximately 10% of time.
