The Self-Funded Manager of Operations will provide 100% leadership, overseeing the management of our service team personnel and ensuring exceptional client experience. This role is pivotal in driving team performance and fostering a culture of excellence in service delivery.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist with client experience initiatives, to include partnering with the Practice & Divisional leadership to identify business requirements, analyze industry solutions, project time, cost, technology and overall resources needed
- Deep involvement in day-to-day operations and capable of managing a partial book of business, if necessary
- Emphasizes, understands and reinforces the value of an exceptional client experience and The TrueNorth Way with colleagues
- Responsible and accountable for regularly meeting and exceeding expected client retention numbers
- Oversee training strategy and initiatives for the team
- Identify business initiatives that can improve the client experience and promote operational excellence
- Assign and coordinate the workflow of team members, and partner with other functional areas inside and outside the department
- Ensure the adherence of quality and quantity standards for the team
- Facilitating 1:1 and strategic team meetings on a regular recurring basis
- Continuously communicate with each team member, promoting and encouraging a positive team atmosphere and addressing team issues promptly
- Assist Employee Benefits Leadership Team in preparation of budgets and support revenue and budget goals
- Oversee the annual process and evaluate workflows and processes to accurately align resources according to matrix, improve efficiency and improve the client experience
- Utilize strategic planning tools and concepts, including roadmaps and dashboards, to manage projects and tasks, which includes effectively communicating, delegation and reprioritizing as needed, in addition to removing obstacles collaboratively with appropriate colleagues
- Partner with the appropriate colleagues to ensure systems and processes are complimentary and support both company and divisional standards and goals
- Collaborate with third parties (i.e. insurance carriers, third party vendors) to identify new capabilities, create/manage implementation plans, and monitor ongoing initiatives to ensure success
- Build a team that is self-empowered and have ownership for success
- Travel to and collaborate with regional offices as needed to ensure alignment in processes, initiatives, and practices
Credentials:
- A four-year degree in Business, Finance or related field preferred
- 10 years of experience in Self-Funded benefits required, 15 - 20 years preferred
- Client-facing experience as an Account Executive and/or Account Manager
- Three years of prior leadership experience required
