GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Works collaboratively with members of the Clinical Applications support team, managing and supporting clinical applications and related systems for all divisions within the Organization. Drives the resolution of technical issues with clinical applications and investigates and implements fixes by working with the vendor, IT, and other cross-functional groups. Identifies areas where improvements can be made to enhance the experience and efficiencies of our radiologists and end users using our clinical applications

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Monitors and optimizes the radiologists' experience with clinical applications and related systems, identifying and addressing any issues or gaps that affect their productivity, accuracy, or satisfaction.
  • Collaborates with radiologists, end users, and other stakeholders to gather feedback, requirements, suggestions, and implement improvements and optimizations for clinical applications and related systems.
  • Diagnoses and resolves technical issues with clinical applications and related systems, working with vendor, IT, and other cross-functional groups as needed to resolve in a timely manner.
  • Proactively analyzes operational processes and data to identify opportunities and improve existing processes for workflow optimization.
  • Responsible for senior level support, administration, and maintenance of clinical applications and related systems, integrations, and connectivity, including vendor and/or outside party escalation for the most complex problems.
  • Maintains advanced knowledge of current operational workflows that are supported through the business or clinical applications
  • Assists Manager, Clinical Informatics as needed in routine management of all clinical applications including PACS, RIS, dictation, and related clinical systems for all Divisions across the organization.
  • Ensures timely and complete capture of DICOM and HL7 transmissions into related systems, reporting any issues to vendor support or Interface team when necessary.
  • Implements and tests fixes, patches, updates, and enhancements for clinical applications and related systems, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal performance.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and solutions that can improve the quality, functionality, and efficiency of clinical applications and related systems.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in computer technology or related field; OR Associate degree in computer technology or related field plus two years working in an information security-related role OR Equivalent combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
  • Strong understanding of radiology workflow, including the use of clinical applications such as PACS, voice recognition
  • Strong understanding of interoperability standards such as Dicom and HL7
  • Working knowledge of computers, networks, and operating systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and vendors.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Prolonged periods of standing and/or sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Work may require hand dexterity for operation of office machines. Mobility to complete errands. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in an office and/or remote work environment. Position may involve contact with staff and the public. Work may be stressful at times. Occasional evening and weekend work.
