Job Title: School Psychologist - Psychological Counseling Services
Location: District Wide
Position Type: Full-Time (.25 Evaluations, .75 Counseling Services)
Job Summary: The successful candidate will provide psychological counseling as a related service to support the mental health, emotional well-being, and academic success of students with IEPs in grades K - 12. The School Psychologist will work closely with IEP teams, educators, administrators, and families to create a safe and supportive school environment that promotes the development of students. This position also requires Chapter 14 evaluations and reevaluations for students.
Responsibilities:
1. Writing up present levels for IEP, Writing goals for IEPs, Progress monitoring goals weekly, participating in IEP meetings (4 - 7 hour per case)
2. Assisting teams in generalizing skills (5 hours weekly)
3. Providing weekly at 30 minutes/individual or group sessions (4 hours per day)
4. Writing their own reports (10-12 hours each report)
5. Used for risk assessments for students with IEPs.
Position Summary:
The certified School Psychologist conducts comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations; consults with school personnel and parents regarding planning, implementing and evaluating individual and group interventions; and functions as a member of the building-based Student Support Team in providing services to students.
Qualifications:
Education: Master's Degree Certification: Educational Specialist Certificate - School Psychologist PK-12 Performs a variety of duties, able to make judgments and work under high level of stress

Functions/Duties/Responsibilities:
Conduct individual student assessments, which include formal testing, observations, review of records, and conferences with students, parents, and faculty.Conduct periodic follow-up of students referred for services. Classify, place, and aid in the development of programs for students brought to the attention of the School Psychologist. Write reports and recommendations of referred students and interpret these to parents and appropriate professional personnel. Counsel students as the need arises. Consult with all professional personnel in regard to any student problems brought to the School Psychologist's attention. Regularly visit the special education classrooms and programs in order to be informed in regard to the ongoing instructional program. Help plan and develop new special education programs or revise present programs. Provide for the identification of students for and the proper placement of students in the various special education programs as well as periodic review of their progress. Function as the chairperson of the multidisciplinary team, which will meet to determine recommendations for students referred for an evaluation and/or possible special education placement. This team will generally include the building principal, school counselor, and teaching staff. Participate in professional growth activities on a yearly basis including recertification for CPI, workshops, in-services, professional reading materials, and/or other available offerings at WCSD. Other duties as assigned by the Assistant to the Superintendent for Academic Programs or the Director of Special Education.
