Oracle Migration Services Technical Lead
Location: Atlanta, GA (hybrid)
TekStream is looking for an Oracle Migration Services Technical Team Lead to join our practice in Atlanta, GA!
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage Oracle database migration projects from on-premise or EC2 environments to Amazon RDS.
• Define migration strategies, including re-hosting, re-platforming, or modernization, to align with client needs.
• Conduct pre-migration assessments and develop detailed project plans, including effort estimation, risk analysis, and resource allocation.
• Oversee the migration process, including database conversion, data replication, schema transformation, and performance tuning.
• Guide the team in troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges related to Oracle database migration.
• Implement monitoring and alerting systems for databases using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or AWS CloudWatch.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and training to team members.
• Document migration procedures, best practices, and lessons learned to streamline future projects.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience with Oracle databases, including administration, optimization, and troubleshooting.
• 3+ years of experience leading cloud migration projects, preferably from Oracle to Amazon RDS.
• Deep knowledge of Amazon RDS (Enterprise Edition, Multi-AZ, backups, encryption, etc.) and AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, CloudWatch).
• Hands-on experience with database migration tools like AWS DMS, AWS SCT, and Oracle Data Pump.
• Proficiency in performance tuning and optimization of Oracle and RDS databases.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (Terraform, CI/CD, Ansible, etc.) is a plus.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, security protocols, and compliance standards.
• Excellent communication, project management, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• AWS Certified Database - Specialty or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
• Experience with migrating databases to Amazon Aurora or PostgreSQL.
