Director, Enterprise Product Safety & Compliance

Winnebago Industries is seeking a Director of Enterprise Product Safety and Compliance based in Eden Prairie, MN. This role is hybrid. We are seeking individuals that are passionate about helping our customers explore the outdoors and have extraordinary mobile experiences as they travel, live, work and play. We can only do this as long as our products are safe, environmentally sustainable and compliant with applicable laws and regulations. This position will have enterprise responsibility for ensuring that our products are safe and legal.

Day to Day of the Role:

• Provide leadership and implement practical technical and strategic approaches to ensure that our products are safe, environmentally sustainable, and compliant with applicable laws, regulations and standards, including those of NHTSA, Transport Canada, CARB, EPA, NFPA, ANSI and NEC.
• Develop and implement an enterprise product safety and compliance strategy to ensure that our products are safe, sustainable and legal
• Enhance, develop and oversee product safety and sustainability compliance policies, processes, programs and systems
• Manage and support team of subject matter experts to:
• Execute complex regulatory submission documents to regulatory authorities, including NHTSA and Transport Canada
• Address regulatory inquiries and investigations
• Conduct internal reviews, including factual investigations, analysis and potential remedial solutions in the area of product safety, sustainability and compliance
• Review new and existing products to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and standards
• Build and maintain positive relationships with federal, state and local regulators
• Enhance, develop and oversee employee training programs regarding product safety and compliance
• Provide strategic technical and regulatory guidance to business units and leadership in the area of product safety, product regulatory affairs, product sustainability and product risk management
• Oversee maintenance of high-quality product safety-related data and the provision of data insights to cross-functional partners and leadership
• Other duties as assigned based on business need

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in safety, engineering or a related technical field
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in product safety and/or compliance
• Minimum of 7 years of managerial experience, including leadership and people management, preferred
• Recreational Vehicle industry background preferred
• This position may require travel to other Winnebago locations.
