CONSUMER SERVICES MANAGER

The Organization

North Los Angeles County Regional Center "NLACRC" is a private, non-profit agency that is contracted with the State of California, Department of Developmental Services, to provide services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. NLACRC is one of the largest regional centers in California and has proudly served the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, and Antelope Valley since 1974. We serve individuals across the lifespan from infants and toddlers, school age children, transition-age youth, to adults and aging adults.

Supervision:

Receives supervision from the Consumer Services Director, provides general and administrative supervision to Consumer Services Supervisors and others as identifed.

Job Summary

General oversight of the assigned offices, which could include, but is not limited to, the San Fernando Valley, Antelope Valley, or Santa Clarita Valley Offices. Provides back-up support to and acts in the absence of the Consumer Services Director for their respective branch office. Responsible for ensuring regulatory and contractual obligations are met for consumer services. Ensures the development and maintenance of community relations and fosters partnerships, inclusive of active participation on workgroups, committees, and taskforces.

Core Duties
  • Provides leadership in accordance with the Center's mission and core values.
  • Participates in the Center's management team, may serve as staff support for Board committees.
  • Develops and oversees detailed and technologically advanced tracking systems for consumer activity as well as coordination of state audits, community outreach, and inter-agency collaboration.
  • Responsibilities/point person with the Department of Developmental Services.
  • Provides/delegates consultation to general case management staff
  • Purchase of Service review and approval.
  • Monitors case management compliance with applicable Performance Standards and the SEIU 721 California Bargaining Agreement.
  • Provide oversight and leadership of the Self-Determination Program (Santa Clarita Branch Office Consumer Service Manager).
  • Other duties as assigned by Consumer Services Director or executive leadership.

Supervisory Job Duties
  • Interviews, hires, and trains staff within and for assigned Case Management departments.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of Consumer Services Supervisors and Case Management staff-level positions.
    • Assigns, reviews and approves work of unit staff members. Advises staff on resolution of complex service issues.
    • Assigns, reviews, and approves work of staff members.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations for direct reports.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employee direct reports in accordance with agency policies.


Employment Standards
  • Master's Degree in Human Services related field with a minimum of 5 years' experience working with individuals who have developmental/intellectual disabilities, preferably within the regional center system.
  • Proven record of excellent organizational, communication and time management abilities
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience at a supervisor level position and managing multiple position types.
  • Intermediate computer skills, data-base experience preferred
  • A valid CDL and transportation, or acceptable substitute required for this position

Competencies:

Developmental disabilities; Regional Center (or related company) practices; computer usage; management and supervisory principles and practices.

A valid California Driver's License and transportation, or acceptable substitute, required for this position.
