UW Medicine Enterprise Records and Health Information has an outstanding opportunity for a PATIENT IDENTITY & CHART CORRECTIONS MANAGER.
WORK SCHEDULE
100% FTE, Days, Fully remote
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
Develops, plans, and implements strategies, work plans, goals, efficiencies and solutions for patient identity and medical record corrections for UW Medicine
Manages and directs Patient Identity staff and develops and implements strategies, policies, and procedures related to UW Medicine's medical records
Collaborates with UW Medicine leadership, UW Medicine Compliance, Patient Relations, UW Medicine IT leadership, project managers, and others to ensure that information governance strategies are applied to UW Medicine medical records in a consistent and compliant manner
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Promotes and educates UW Medicine staff at public and non-public entities regarding patient identity, and corrections to medical records
Directs and manages the operations of the patient identity staff, including oversight of staff
Ensures project schedules and deadlines are met, establishes productivity goals and ensures staff are held accountable for their work responsibilities and are compliant with legal and regulatory requirements as applicable
Develops processes and workflows to promote accurate and trusted content of electronic medical records
Plans and develops active collaborations with other departments and entities throughout UW Medicine
Ensures the development of reports and metrics related to office goals and activities and develops and updates office manuals, job aids and other resources for staff
Works with UWM IT and other stakeholders to promote the use and implementation of electronic medical record reports as they relate to Patient Identity
Manages department budget; assists Director with planning fiscal year efficiencies and ensures compliance with UWM accounting practices as it relates to invoicing.
Ensures collaboration between various teams under the position's management, and with other members of ERHI. Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related degree and 4-5 year of experience
RHIA Certification
Knowledge and experience with electronic medical records
Knowledge and experience with chart corrections and managing patient identity;
Knowledge and experience with applying professional standards and information governance principles toward electronic health records
