JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Associate Vice President (AVP) of Crisis Response and Community Wellness Services will provide strategic leadership, operational oversight, and program development to enhance crisis intervention and response and wellness services. The AVP will ensure the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care to individuals and communities. The AVP will oversee Spectrum Health's crisis response program, including the Crisis Response Services in multiple counties and CARES. They oversee the Buffalo HOPE COMHPS program and the Patient Access Center, serving as a key representative of Spectrum Health's community-facing initiatives and ensuring alignment with the Agency's Standards of Practice and Core Values. The AVP will collaborate with internal departments and external partners to promote mental health, build crisis response infrastructure, and advance community wellness initiatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1) Strategic Leadership & Program Oversight:
- Develop, implement, and oversee programs related to crisis intervention, mental health services, and community wellness.
- Initiate, develop, and implement valid, innovative best practices programming conducive to the provision of the highest-quality crisis response and follow-up.
- Lead efforts to strengthen crisis response infrastructure, continuously monitoring, evaluating, and improving mobile crisis response, CARES, agency on-call, and follow-up care.
- Identify trends in mental health and community wellness, incorporating best practices and innovative approaches into program design.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards.
- Complete required reports, outcomes, and documentation on time, meeting all standards of professional content and presentation.
2.) Community Engagement & Partnerships:
- Foster collaborative relationships with community partners, local governments, healthcare providers, and advocacy groups.
- Actively monitor and revise contractual expectations with various counties and agencies to whom we provide Designated Collaborating Organization (DCO) services.
- Serve as the organization's representative at public forums, committees, and partnerships to promote mental health and wellness services.
- Participate in MH Subcommittees and Suicide Prevention Coalitions as requested by various counties.
- Build and maintain partnerships to support underserved populations and reduce barriers to care, including those related to transportation, cultural competence, and language access.
3.) Staff Supervision & Development:
- Ensure continuity of managerial and specialized personnel in achieving objectives through effective selection, development, training, evaluation, and motivation of key supervisees.
- Provide leadership, supervision, and mentorship to program directors, crisis response teams, and other staff.
- Support staff training on crisis management, de-escalation techniques, and trauma-informed care.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development within teams.
4.) Operational & Financial Management:
- Work cooperatively with Sr. VP and Finance to review fiscal performance and strategies.
- Develop and manage budgets for crisis and wellness programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and funding requirements.
- Monitor program performance and key metrics to measure impact and identify areas for improvement.
- Lead efforts to secure funding through grants, contracts, and partnerships, collaborating with the Executive team as needed.
5.) Crisis Response & Wellness Initiatives:
- Oversee emergency response protocols, ensuring immediate and effective interventions during crises.
- Develop and expand community-based wellness initiatives to promote resilience and prevent crises.
- Lead the organization's response during public health emergencies, natural disasters, and other large-scale events affecting community well-being.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field (required) with licensure as an LCSW or LMHC-DP or similar with 7 to 10 years of demonstrated accomplishment and skill in an administrative role leading quality and business development initiatives.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of leadership experience in behavioral health, crisis intervention, or community health programs. Experience must have included clinical work, preferably in a crisis response program.
- Proven experience in developing and managing crisis response teams or wellness initiatives.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, mental health first aid, and culturally responsive service delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to build partnerships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and government agencies.
- Experience with data-driven performance management and executing program budgets.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively with clients, families, staff, and community contacts from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATE:
- LCSW or LMHC-DP preferred.
