Role: Productivity Manager
Position Summary:
The Productivity Manager will report directly to the Plant Manager and be responsible for working with the Operations and Technical teams to drive operational improvements. This is an Exempt position. Activities will include coaching & developing frontline leaders and employees, improving line efficiencies, reducing material & yield losses, and improving equipment reliability. The individual needs to be capable of meeting or exceeding cost per case objectives.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Continuous Improvement manager to work with a Plant and Corporate leadership team focused on operational excellence and strong cost management. The successful candidate will have strong mechanical, analytical and problem solving skills, be self-motivated, data driven, have a strong desire to succeed, and be capable of leading in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
Job Description:
Drive OEE improvements
Provide accurate, timely feasibility assessments of manufacturing and savings projects to enable data-based business decision-making and strategies.
Institutionalize and standardize a more comprehensive lean program for the site that integrates with the organization's overall strategy.
Collaborate with plant engineering and operations to improve feasibility of new ideas. Provide training of local resources to learn common techniques of root cause resolution.
Actively identify and champion productivity or revenue building ideas through Process Mapping and other value Stream Mapping techniques
Effectively communicate project status, issues/help needed and key milestones to team members and to leadership.
Deliver technically robust projects on time and within funded amount.
Monitor & track packaging system trends in order to identify & prioritize improvement projects and initiatives.
Provide technical support for plant and facility operations, including investigation and correction of any issues.
Operate effectively in a team-based, lean, and flat organization.
Plant value stream mapping
o Top three business gap identification
o Top three solutions to the gaps identified
Facilitating operational team training
o Facilitating 5S, SMED, CLE, ERCA,
Assemble and monitor key CI processes
o Annual CI master plan for multiple plant initiatives
o Cost reduction projects
o Training plans
Work with operations and the technical group to identify productivity improvements that impact: quality, cost, performance, and preventive and predictive maintenance
Identify and coordinate operational improvements necessary to deliver the site annual operating plan (AOP). Ensure cost performance gaps are identified, action plans are developed and resources are properly allocated
Track operational output measures (i.e. efficiency, yield loss, product quality, inventory accuracy, transactional accuracy), anticipating and correcting trends which would compromise achievement of financial targets
Build strong relationships with the leadership, technical, and operations teams to effectively drive process improvements
Comply with all Sunny Delight Beverages policies and procedures
Comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as required
Ensure team compliance with all safety policies and procedures
Maintain product quality and sanitation standards
QUALIFICATIONS:
Position Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or equivalent technical major is highly desired. Continuous improvement experience of 10 years or more in applicable operational research project field is an acceptable alternate.
Five plus years of productivity experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
Project Management skills and experience in implementation of significant projects (> $1MM) with a proven ability to establish a clear tracking and reporting system (i.e. on excel, Minitab, MS project, etc.).
Excellent interpersonal skills including ability to provide leadership and training in a team-based environment.
Led teams through transformations with sustained results. Specific experience in applying lean concepts in a process environment is required. Strong knowledge and experience in tools such as change management, servant leadership, TPM, changeovers, visual controls, kaizen, etc., is required.
Extensive experience in using their influencing and change management skills to drive and sustain improvements. Have a proven track record of success using the servant leadership philosophy.
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral.
Excellent analytical skills, ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues, problem-solving tools and skills are required.
Computer skills required: Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook, MS Project, Access, AutoCAD, VISIO), Internet research skills
Experience with statistical software (excel, Minitab)
Outstanding time management/prioritization and organization skills required. A bachelor's degree required; Concentration in business, engineering or operations management preferred
Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed to drive improvements across multiple shifts
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
Must be able to drive results and work independently and effectively in a team setting
