Overview
We are currently seeking a Software Developer to support the Mission Assurance Decision Support System for A46 department at Naval Surface Warfare Center. This position will be a hybrid between sitting onsite at Dahlgren NSWCDD in a secure environment, working out of prime partner offices outside the base, and potential telework from home once spun up on the program.

Security Clearance:
Candidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions/Job Duties:
- Assist with analysis of existing and emerging Operational and Functional requirements to support the current and future systems capabilities and requirements.
- Assist with Risk Analysis for implementation of program requirements
- Perform software development for the Common Host Interface elements of the modernization effort
- Perform Software Development using Object Oriented and C# programming languages to implement system requirements
- Collaborates with GVT Software Development Leads to determine programming objectives
- Develops code that supports the objectives and requirements to provide optimal functionality
- Edits and improves upon code in existing software programs and applications
- Ensure code is error-free, readable, efficient, and logically organized for ease of access
- Operate debugging software and seek out root cause of error in coding sequences
- Perform detailed, manual checks of code

Typical Working Conditions:
- General office environment with USG provided NMCI Computer and peripheral equipment.
Essential Physical Tasks:
- Ability to lift 10 lbs. on an occasional basis.
- Potential domestic travel 10% of the time by automobile, air, etc.
- Ability to use a personal computer, keyboard and mouse on a consistent basis.
Written Communications:
- Operates standard computer based business tools (including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel) effectively with a high degree of competency.
- Proficient in the development of White Papers and Technical Documentation
Verbal Communications:
- Demonstrates excellent clear and concise verbal communication skills.
Qualifications
Skills/Qualifications:
- Three (3+) plus years of web development experience (C# preferred)
- Significant Experience with back-end technologies (e.g. Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kubernetes, RabbitMQ, etc.)
- Some experience with front-end technologies (e.g. Angular, JavaScript, CSS, HTML)
- Ability to provide regular onsite support at Dahlgren (at least 1 day per sprint)
- Ability to travel for Program Increment Planning (rotates between Baltimore Maryland, and Dahlgren Virginia)
- Secret clearance (or higher)
Customer Interface Activities:
- Suitable inter-personnel and customer service skills required to interface with corporate customers.
- Ability to effectively communicate with the Customer, Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren staff, and peer contractor personnel.
Work Schedule:
- Std 40
- Occasional flexing of schedules to support lab and test time
Minimum Education Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, EE, ME, IE, Information Systems, Information Technology, or other reated field
