About the job:

Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing and reporting of financial transactions and that a strong internal control environment is maintained. Position will prepare and/or review daily and monthly reconciliations of various general ledger accounts specific to an established area of expertise and resolve issues which occur. In addition, position will be responsible for the preparation of the monthly results reporting, budgeting and forecasting and ad hoc reporting. Successful candidate partners with other departments within the organization to provide guidance and support to ensure transactions are properly recorded and controlled. This position will supervise Accounting Staff.

What you'll be responsible for:

Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Assists with monthly general ledger close.
  • Prepares monthly Board results reporting and analyses.
  • Maintain the general ledger system.
  • Prepare monthly adjusting journal entries for the balance sheet and income statements.
  • Prepare departmental expense analyses and coordinate with other departments, regarding the explanation of variances.
  • Record investments and loan income into the General Ledger and budget, forecast and track all revenue as required.
  • Review the suspense accounts and resolve all outstanding items.
  • Assume protection of the assets of the business and ensure that proper internal control and segregation of duties are in place.
  • Prepares annual budget and forecasting for non-interest income and expense.
  • Assist with external auditors for year-end audits and with bank regulators.
  • Prepares Quarterly NCUA call report.
  • Assist CFO or VP with special projects or other functions that may be assigned.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


What you'll bring:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
    • Minimum five years accounting experience, preferably in a bank or credit union.
    • Thorough understanding of GAAP and Regulatory Accounting.
    • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
