We're looking for an innovative Engineering Manager, Building Systems (Structural Engineering, Envelope, MEP) with a background in Structural Engineering and knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical Systems to lead the development of our innovative mass timber building platform, which will form the foundation for a diverse range of building typologies that Intelligent City is introducing to the market. This role combines strategic leadership, technical expertise, and team management to drive impactful engineering solutions. You'll oversee the design and integration of structural systems while ensuring seamless integration with envelope design and MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) systems.

DELTA, BC - primarily at our a pre-fab mass-timber manufacturing facility, with the option to work at home. Must be willing to also work at our KITSILANO, BC office on occasion.

The Role & Responsibilities - What You'll Do (Structural Engineering, Envelope, MEP):
    • Lead development of mass timber systems, aligning engineering and R&D strategies with company objectives.
    • Oversee design and implementation of gravity and lateral load-resisting systems, integrating DfMA principles and coordinating with structural, faade, and MEP systems.
    • Manage project priorities and ensure seamless collaboration across disciplines, reporting progress to leadership and maintaining alignment.
    • Represent the company in client meetings and foster partnerships with consultants and vendors to ensure successful project delivery.
    • Coach and develop a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture focused on growth, resilience, and innovative problem-solving.


Education & Qualifications, Required:
    • Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering, building technology, or related fields.
    • Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with EGBC status


Skills & Experience, Required:
    • 10+ years of experience in structural engineering, prefabrication, or construction
    • 1-3 years of experience in a supervisory or management role is advantageous.
    • In-depth knowledge of Canadian Codes and Standards; familiarity with US and Eurocodes is a plus.
    • Experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
    • Proficiency in structural software, including SAP 2000, ETABS, and RFEM.
    • Experience with Autodesk Revit Architecture and/or McNeel Rhinoceros.
    • Strong ability to coordinate processes and collaborate with consultants across various software platforms.
    • Detail-oriented and data-driven, with a strong focus on accuracy and precision in engineering tasks.
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills for managing meeting agendas, documenting actionable notes, and facilitating collaboration among departments and stakeholders.
    • Proven leadership and team management abilities.
    • Experience building strong working relationships with clients, external consultants, vendors, and contractors.
    • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to effectively address complex engineering challenges.
    • Attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accuracy and compliance.

    • Must provide your own CSA approved 6" safety footwear, required.
    • Ability to provide proof of the right to work for the Company in Canada.
    • Successful candidates may be required to submit to a background check
    • Willingness to work between our office and manufacturing facilities.


$120,000 - $145,000 a year

For this role, the estimated base salary range is $120,000 to $145,000.

The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified. Benefits offered after 3 months.
