Purpose:

This position is actively training to take on full responsibilities of an independent Manager. This position provides support to one or more Managers in daily patient care activities, personnel, and departmental operations. Serves as supervising Manager to one or more assigned clinics and assigned staff. Takes the lead on initiatives to improve the patient experience and other value-based initiatives across all assigned areas.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for assisting with disciplinary actions, performance reviews and the hiring process for shared staff and directly responsible for assigned staff.
  • Maintain current clinical skills and is competent to support the delivery of care.
  • Regularly performs the job duties of a clinical staff to include all aspects of the intake, clinical, lab, business office processes.
  • Accountable for assuring quality and value-based outcomes and appropriate resource consumption.
  • Enforces the Standards of Behavior and works to ensure that the Mission, Vision, and Values of the organization are upheld daily.
  • Actively collaborates, develops, and implements plans to meet and exceed Key Performance Indicators/Metrics and organizational goals.
  • Maintains fiscal responsibility for assigned clinics or in conjunction with supervising manager. Conducts necessary reporting, financial variance and budget development and management.

Other Duties:
  • Responsible for daily operations ensuring that policies, practices, procedures, and standards are followed in providing care.
  • Manages patient throughput daily to ensure proper direction of patients throughout the organization.
  • Assists in the development of department staffing schedules daily and makes appropriate staffing adjustments to meet staffing needs of all offices each day.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills when rounding daily on patients, staff, doctors and waiting areas and addresses any issues and concerns as they arise.
  • Provides education, training to staff as needed to ensure optimal performance and ongoing development, assists in tracking adherence to all mandatory education and assists with staff development.
  • Actively participates in performance improvement initiatives to ensure achievement of quality and value-based care goals.
  • Maintains professional accountability by participating in in-services, committees, and interdisciplinary projects.
  • In conjunction with the Manager helps to develop and participate with staff meetings and independently runs staff meetings for assigned supervision department.
  • Coordinates with staff and physicians to ensure key items, equipment, supplies etc. are available as needed.
  • Exhibits the ability to problem-solve, appropriately confronts issues, and motivates others both individually and as a group.
  • Initiate observation, evaluation, and improvement activities to enhance the patient experience and improve patient experience survey results.
  • Provide consultation and training assistance to other managers.
  • Responsible for and participates in formal initiatives such as Lean/Process improvement, special projects, provider and staff formal rounding, game changer implementation and promotion, quality improvement, root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

Required:
  • At least 3-5 years as a Managing Lead at WH or other relevant Manager experience.
  • Advanced degree or licensure (i.e. Masters, LPN, RN) and/or 7 years in a clinical setting.
  • Minimum of 3 years in an Infusion and Chemotherapy clinic required

Preferred:
  • Certification in Medical field (CMA, RMA, etc) or License to practice professional nursing in the State of North Carolina or equivalent relevant experience in a clinical setting.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN or other related field
  • Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of North Carolina
