Nation's Best Holdings, LLC is seeking candidates for a Safety Manager in our Dallas Support Center located in Dallas, Texas. The Safety Manager is a strategic and operational leader responsible for ensuring a safe work environment across all Nation's Best locations. This role is critical in developing, managing, and optimizing the company's safety programs and processes, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations and fostering a culture of safety within the company's hardware stores, lumber yards, and home centers. The Safety Manager will take ownership of incident prevention, risk management, and training initiatives, helping to drive operational excellence and reduce workplace accidents. This role will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and work closely with store managers and other key leaders to implement safety protocols and provide hands-on support in fostering a safe and productive work environment.

What does the Safety Manager do?
  • Safety Program Leadership: Lead the creation, implementation, and ongoing management of safety programs to ensure adherence to safety regulations (OSHA, DOT, etc.) and best practices in workplace safety across all store locations and job sites.
  • Risk Mitigation: Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and workplace inspections to proactively identify hazards and implement corrective measures to mitigate risk and ensure employee well-being.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations, staying updated on new legislation and industry trends that impact workplace safety.
  • Incident Management: Oversee the process of reporting and investigating workplace accidents, injuries, and near misses. Analyze root causes and establish preventative measures to reduce future incidents.
  • Safety Training & Education: Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees and management, focusing on proper equipment usage, emergency response, hazardous materials handling, and best practices in risk prevention.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish safety performance metrics, regularly report on safety data, and use insights to drive continuous improvement in safety protocols and accident reduction.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency response plans, ensuring employees are trained on procedures for evacuation, first aid, fire safety, and other emergency situations.
  • Collaboration & Support: Partner with store managers and HR to address safety concerns, provide solutions, and ensure safety policies are effectively communicated and enforced.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement in safety practices by staying informed of new technologies, tools, and regulations that can enhance the safety environment.

What does it take to be successful as the Safety Manager for Nation's Best?
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field. Safety-related certifications (OSHA, CSP, etc.) are highly preferred.
  • 5+ years of safety management experience in the retail, construction, or industrial sectors, with a proven track record of developing and maintaining safety programs. Experience working within the lumber and building materials industry preferred.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA standards, workplace safety regulations, risk management, and incident prevention strategies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and training skills. Ability to influence safety culture at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in safety management software, incident reporting tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to various locations for safety inspections, training, and audits.
  • Proven success in reducing workplace injuries and improving safety metrics.
  • Strong collaboration and project management skills.
