Summary

The Associate Manager, Budgeting & Forecasting is responsible for helping to drive revenue, identify cost savings, and maximize net contribution. The role will also review, analyze, and report on business performance, identify issues and trends, and recommend strategic solutions to leadership. This role will proactively anticipate the needs of leadership and provide relevant information that assists with business decisions.

This position is a shared service, designed to direct and oversee the financial components of assigned product lines and is responsible for gathering and analyzing business intelligence to drive revenue and oversight of forecast/budgeting and expense management to generate profits to support The IIA's initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Actively manage the financial performance of assigned product lines to achieve revenue targets, control expenditures, and forecast financial performance as compared with approved budgets.
  • Oversight and communication of budget and forecast activities - requires working directly with product owners, and other departments such as sales, marketing, and accounting to accurately forecast revenues and expenses.
  • Take ownership of the P&L for the assigned product lines to ensure timely and accurate trend and impact analysis is communicated to the internal stakeholders.
  • Work closely with business owners to create the annual budget. This includes but is not limited to holding budget planning meetings, creating budget templates, and supporting the creation of final presentations for executives.
  • Responsible for the compilation of relevant data used for business analysis, planning, decision-making, and product line optimization.
  • Prepare timely and actionable analyses, forecasts, and recommendations for assigned projects to ensure achievement of business objectives.
  • Responsible for ongoing communications, presentations, and reports to appropriate IIA business units, Executive Leadership Team, and other stakeholders regarding project status, emerging trends, business opportunities and other initiatives.
  • Collaborate with accounting to improve expense process efficiencies and recommend improvements as needed.
  • Own and enhance reporting by identifying and prioritizing management data needs and collaborating with business intelligence team members.


Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. This position will influence and lead cross-functional discussions in the achievement of financial goals.

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a business or financial analyst role with a strong focus on managing financial performance including budgeting and forecasting.
  • Proven experience creating financial forecasts and budgets on a recurring basis and working internally to improve net contribution.
  • Experience leading and working across teams, and ensuring collaboration from business units on managing all revenue and expense items.
  • Ability to efficiently analyze financial data and provide summaries to key business stakeholders.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, with advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with a high sense of urgency
  • Ability to demonstrate highly reliable judgment and problem solving capabilities particularly in situations involving new, complex, or multiple sources of information.
  • Self-starter with high energy, positive, "can-do" attitude, flexibility, teamwork, and attention to detail; high degree of self-initiative
