We are seeking an AFIN Mission Assurance Center (AMAC) Project Manager to liaise with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and facilitate the successful execution of critical initiatives supporting the operation and assurance of the Air Force Information Network (AFIN). This role will involve a range of network systems, including the Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communication Systems (JWICS) and the AF Network (AFNET), while coordinating with multiple agencies and commercial vendors as the AFIN evolves. The ideal candidate will ensure that mission-critical services are maintained and enhanced, while adapting to dynamic workloads and supporting the Air Force's transition to an enterprise IT service model. This position requires effective representation of the 688th Cyberspace Wing (CW) interests in various technology planning forums and active engagement in real-time operational support.
This position reports to the 688 CW/AMAC on Lackland AFB, TX, but is forward deployed to Scott AFB, IL. Some travel will be required.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities From PWS/SOW
Represent the 688 CW, AFCYBER, and Air and Space Force interests in DISA's technology planning and deployment, optimizing AFIN systems to reduce operational impact.
Identify and resolve complex technical issues within AFIN's information systems infrastructure.
Monitor DISA's change management activities to address impacts on Air and Space Force security systems.
Analyze and resolve network performance issues applying NETOPS principles for the 688 CW Area of Responsibility (AOR).
Provide real-time input and feedback to support mission execution within the 688 CW AOR.
Represent 688 CW, AFCYBER, and Air and Space Force in various meetings, maintain awareness of DISA activities, and report back to the AMAC.
Brief and represent the 688 CW at DISA-Global meetings, providing recommendations on plans affecting subordinate organizations.
Collect, review, and produce situational reports aligned with the Air Force Commander's Critical Information Requirements (CCIR).
Review DISA network directives, incident reports, and trouble tickets to maintain situational awareness and direct AMAC workflow.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance operational capabilities and efficiencies.
Job Requirements:
Education & Experience
Required:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within IT or cybersecurity environments
Proven experience in network operations, particularly within military or government frameworks
Familiarity with AFIN systems and cybersecurity principles
Strong leadership and management capabilities
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective stakeholder engagement
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to think critically under pressure
Desired:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
Certifications
Desired:
Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent
CompTIA Security+
Additional relevant industry certifications may be considered
Security Clearance
DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI Eligibility required
Other (Travel, Work Environment, DoD 8570 Requirements, Administrative Notes, etc.)
Minimal travel will be required
