Position Summary:
The Speech Language Pathologist I (SLP) is responsible for safe and appropriate basic to intermediate patient care. This individual has a good grasp of both treatment strengths and weaknesses and seeks assistance with treatments as appropriate to clinical skill level. The clinician is required to provide instruction, direction and supervision to subordinate staff and serves as a resource for all departments. Consults with medical and professional staff of other departments to plan and coordinate joint patient care and management objectives. Will orient and precept new staff and assess competencies as needed.
Analyzes data, determines time, place and sequence of healthcare or action to be taken on the basis of analysis of data; executing determination and/or reporting on events. Teaches, instructs patients and families on healthcare subjects, provides explanation. May make recommendations to physicians or other staff based on patient care principles to assure optimum patient care. Will select appropriate health supplies, medical equipment to assure appropriate medical care.
Qualifications:
Work requires basic knowledge of patient assessment and hospital policies and procedures, knowledge of assignment of personnel.
Must possess good verbal and written English communication skills. Good time management and prioritizing skills. Computer experience preferred. Computer software knowledge and experience preferred: Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

- Requires Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Currently State of California of Speech Language Pathologist License
- Current American Heart Association Certification BCLS Certificate
- Current and valid CA DMV license
- Current CA Auto Insurance and Clean DMV record
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) preferred.
