The Documentation Engineer works with project teams within the Product Development department to ensure new products are released and the correct configurations are developed. Utilize extensive Configuration Management and CAD skills while ensuring all new products and changes to existing products meet our internal standards and/or ANSI standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accountable for ensuring quality of data entered in ERP system.
- Configure product data with manufacturing practices and processes in mind.
- Completes engineering drawings and Bill of Materials as required for production.
- Creates and/or populates assemblies to finalize model configurations using 3d modeling software.
- Creates designs and layout drawings using 3D modeling software as required.
- Ensure all new CAD drawings and changes to existing drawings meet internal standards and ANSI standards.
- Work with Project teams in Product Development, Manufacturing Engineering, Purchasing, Materials Management, Customer Service and Sales and Marketing
- Helps order parts for prototypes; validates the parts are ready for assembly/order; works with project managers and purchasing on new products.
- Works effectively with cross-departmental teams.
ATTRIBUTES
- Experience and knowledge of the ERP system and how it will affect Engineering documentation and other areas of the company.
- In-depth understanding of Development processes within and Engineering department
- Understand manufacturing practices and processes.
- Complete understanding and in-depth knowledge of all the various configurations of all products which will enable the creation of new configurations or the ability to verify changes to existing configurations.
- Experience in managing special projects within the company, and/or department to meet stated goals.
- Ability to work in a team environment on new projects and train other employees on projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an Associate degree in design/engineering and/or 5-10 years' experience in an Engineering environment
- 2-3 years' experience in Drafting and/or Design environment.
- Extensive knowledge in Configuration Management practices (Certification a plus).
