Who we are looking for:

Slate is looking for an experienced and dynamic Program Quality Leader to join our growing team. The position will possess strong quality and program management skills ensuring exceptional Q-Leadership support in the execution of development programs. The role will work closely with key functions across the organization, particularly Program Management, Engineering, Supplier Quality and Manufacturing to ensure business requirements and aligned to AIAG APQP standards. You will feel comfortable operating in a flexible and fast paced environment with a collaborative approach to achieving goals!

What you get to do:
  • Robust quality planning aligned to our program development process (PDP) and AIAG standards.
  • Evaluation of early project requests for impact to quality assurance to ensure a flawless launch.
  • Support evaluation of project change requests for quality, cost and timing.
  • Active involvement in standardization, improvement, roll-out and training of APQP & PPAP related processes, ensuring compliance with AIAG and company standards.
  • Drive project quality deliverables to achieve high quality performance with respect to warranty, customer satisfaction and internal q-performance.
  • Support Slate's definition of quality and process requirements as the Voice of the Customer.
  • Align on program PPAP requirements (timing, content, methods) and cascade for Internal and Supplier PPAP expectations
  • Develop, support and perform internal PPAP approval process.
  • Manage open issues related to quality planning and PPAP deliverables.
  • Collaborate with quality functions - (Design Quality, Manufacturing Quality and Supplier Quality) to ensure consistent application of PDP quality deliverables.
  • Maintain regular communication across functions ensuring quick and efficient cross-reading and Lessons Learned.
  • Conduct/ participate in internal and external project related audits
  • Strive for Excellence through facilitation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


What you bring to the team:
  • The role will be expected to have the highest integrity, curiosity, resourcefulness and strive to exhibit a positive, growth and quality mindset. You will feel comfortable operating in a flexible and fast paced environment with a collaborative approach to achieving goals! You'll also bring:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (e.g.) industrial/ mechanical/ vehicle, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in automotive program quality and program management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role at an OEM/ Tier 1.
  • Very good technical understanding and sound knowledge of product/vehicle development and production with focus on Vehicle Integrated Systems.
  • A successful history of delivering new program launches on time while achieving metrics.
  • Sound knowledge of quality management with in-depth knowledge of program quality disciplines and risk management.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a high level of assertiveness and entrepreneurial thinking.
  • Sound knowledge of quality systems, processes, methods, tools and standards, such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AIAG - APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, etc.
  • Excellent project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Passion for quality, innovation, and sustainability.
  • Highest level of integrity and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced start-up environment.
