Position Overview: They are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Multifamily Estimator to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully estimating bids exceeding $35 million, with a primary focus on multifamily projects. This position plays a crucial role in their pre-construction process, contributing to the continued success of our projects and overall company growth.
Responsibilities:
Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for multifamily construction projects exceeding $35 million. Bid Analysis: Analyze and review bid documents, specifications, and drawings to develop detailed and competitive bids. Budgeting: Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to establish project budgets and ensure alignment with client expectations. Value Engineering: Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide value engineering solutions without compromising quality or design intent. Vendor and Subcontractor Management: Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers, negotiating contracts to achieve the best value for the project. Risk Assessment: Evaluate and mitigate potential risks associated with construction projects, providing recommendations for risk management. Documentation: Maintain accurate and organized records of estimates, proposals, and bid documents. Collaboration: Work closely with the project team, including project managers, architects, and construction personnel, to ensure seamless communication and understanding of project requirements.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in estimating multifamily construction projects, with a focus on bids exceeding $35 million. Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Software Skills: Proficient in using estimating software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend) and familiarity with construction management software. Multifamily Expertise: Extensive experience specifically in estimating and bidding multifamily projects. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders. Analytical Skills: Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to negotiate favorable terms with subcontractors and vendors.
