Description:

Hurco is looking for a Division Controller for our Corporate Headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Hurco North America Controller is responsible for the oversight of the US financial accounting function while providing organizational and administrative support for the financial operations of the business. This position works closely with other departments, such as sales, marketing, service and operations to assure financial control are in placed related to operations of the Division.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Direct and supervise all aspects of accounting operations.
  • Coordinate and supervise the month end/year end closing activities, including reviewing and approving journal entries and account reconciliations prepared by staff.
  • Manage and review all monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for Hurco North America consolidated, which includes Hurco USA, Hurco Midwest, and MASCO.
  • Analyze operating results and variances and their effect on the Division in order to identify and resolve potential financial risk areas in timely manner.
  • Coordinate, prepare and review the annual business plan and the quarterly financial forecast.
  • Develop and monitor policies, procedures and practices relating to financial and internal controls in compliance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Work with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with standard accounting practices and corporate policies.
  • Manage receivables, collections and credit risks associated with sales to distributors and end customers.
  • Participate in the development and execution of Division strategic and business plan.
  • Partner with senior division leaders to understand business requirements and develop an excellent understanding of cost drivers and P&Ls for his/her respective groups.
  • Improve the performance of the division through:
    • Spearhead business process excellence throughout the organization.
    • Develop and implement balanced scorecard performance measurement process.
    • Develop improved decision support processes throughout the sales, service and supply chain teams
  • Continually monitor and assess information and trends affecting the financial result of the Division.
  • Provide day to day support to sales, marketing, service and operations to ensure transactions are processed in accordance with US GAAP and Company policies.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA required, MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years' experience in leadership roles responsible for financial accounting, credit, cost accounting and analysis, preferably working for a big five accounting firm and multi-national manufacturing firm.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, documentation and personnel management skills.
  • Excellent PC skills. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 a plus.
