Introduction
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Environmental Management's is accepting applications for a Waste and Materials Management Program Manager (Natural Resources Regional Program Manager classification) to be responsible for integrating activities within this program within the assigned geographic area and for integration among those programs and all other DNR programs within the assigned geographic area.
Remote work will be available, after the initial onboarding period. The exact amount is based on program need and supervisor discretion .

Position Summary
This position is responsible for the supervision and implementation of the Waste and Materials Management Program within the Environmental Management (EM) Division, for integrating activities within this program within the assigned geographic area and for integration among those programs and all other DNR programs within the assigned geographic area. This position is responsible for directing all aspects of the Waste and Materials Management Program and is accountable for implementation of all aspects of this program. This position is responsible for developing, directing, coaching, mentoring and supervising permanent and LTE staff. This position serves on the Waste and Materials Management Program management team and is expected to be an active contributor. Customer and partner groups may include local governments, businesses, consulting firms, manufacturing industries, non-profit organizations, tribal governments, DNR staff, citizens and other government and educational representatives.

Salary Information
The Waste and Materials Management Program Manager salary is between $43.00 - $50.00 / hour ($89,440.00 - $ 104,000.00 ) depending on qualifications. Plus, excellent benefits.
The classification is a Natural Resources Regional Program Manager which is in pay schedule/range 81 - 02. Pay on appointment will follow the provisions of the State of Wisconsin Compensation Plan.

Qualifications

Minimally qualified candidates will have each of the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in environmental protection/natural resources management, chemistry, geology, hydrogeology, geosciences , environmental science, engineering or similar or comparable work experience.
- Experience leading a team to accomplish a goal (could be formal or informal team leadership, project management, etc.)
- Experience collaborating across organizations or groups from a wide variety of backgrounds to accomplish a goal (e.g., facility owners, federal, tribal, state and/or local governments, non-profit organizations, etc.)
- Serving as a formal supervisor (e.g., responsible for coaching/mentoring, supervising staff and delegating tasks, leading policy development team, etc.).
- Professional experience related to solid waste, hazardous waste, landfills, recycling and/or commercial compost.
- Experience in regulating facilities and enforcement actions.
