SUMMARY
The Director of Meeting & Event Services will manage all day-to-day operations within the Meeting & Event Sales and Services division. This position is responsible for the overall success of the planning and execution of all meetings and events by supervising the Meeting and Event Services team members to insure maximum profitability while achieving high client and team member satisfaction.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION
Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred. Previous management experience required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Minimum 16 months hotel sales, meetings, conventions experience. Strong communication skills, ability to plan and implement action plans and must have basic presentation experience. Working knowledge of Delphi. Must be personable and exemplary customer service skills.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Excellent communication skills both written and oral. Must possess interpersonal skills to deal effectively with business contacts and employees at all levels of the company. Must possess a strong attention to detail and presentation skills.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, and to create and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions through decisive judgment. Ability to interpret and follow through on a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION
Must obtain and maintain appropriate licensing with the Nevada Gaming Board and Alcohol Awareness Card.
Other Qualifications
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Products: Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, and Outlook. Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekend hours and overtime as business needs dictate.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Monitor and supervise all aspects of the Meeting & Event Services Department.
- Manage all account assignments & file turnovers from Meeting Sales to Event Services
- Manage larger/high-profile meeting sales groups to a successful conclusion
- Manage relationships with clients and event operations team during their meeting/event to ensure guest satisfaction
- Continuously monitor and work with event operation teams to control associated food, labor and equipment costs.
- Oversee and manage operations, labor and cost controls of the AV and Tech Services Department
- Assist with site inspections for sales team to finalize details of event and close contracts Lead M&E Services department meetings
- Attend all M&E Leadership departments meetings
- Attend M&E department financial, forecasting, business review, and rooms pick up meetings.
- Lead banquet budget and upselling goal setting with M&E leadership.
- Create and implement strategies to increase revenues in all meetings and events for the department to help achieve individual and team upselling goals.
- Responsible for assisting with food, beverage and A/V forecasting monthly
- Achieve individual banquet and resources goal quarterly & annually
- Establish and maintain vendor list with vendors that provide levels of service in line with hotel
- Communicate with relevant departments to ensure proper servicing of accounts
- Manage time, attendance and lead BEO, Resume and Pre-Cons Meetings for all M&E groups
- Report production on all sales of Banquet and M&E budget weekly.
- Manage the Summary of Meeting reporting process
- Create monthly/Annual Profit and Loss statements.
- Implement and conduct training to enhance upselling skills and creative solutions.
- Create and mentor a positive and motivating environment to promote team synergies.
- Create training programs and orientation programs for Meeting and Event Service Managers.
- Utilize a computer, and related software, for bookings, banquet event orders, space confirmation, spreadsheets and e-mail.
QUALIFICATIONS

- Must have consistent catering and convention services management leadership experience for a minimum of 5 years.
- Large Convention and Gaming Property experience preferred.
