The Role:

With people, culture and service at the heart of everything you do, as Human Resource Manager, you will lead the human resource programs and systems for both Foundry and Fred's Hospitality. This dual role is pivotal to developing the human resource strategy for each company, and to ensure the teams have the support, guidance and services to perform at their best. You are creative in your approach to solutions-based thinking and are challenged to exceed projected targets.

Core Functions:
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to foster a culture true to company core values.
  • Lead, develop and maintain human resource systems, documents and programs.
  • Implement and manage the payroll, benefit and recruitment programs.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible to lead recruitment efforts, establish a resource forecast and manage the process to post, screen, interview, assess and negotiate contracts with new employees.
  • Responsible to onboard, set training programs and collect for employee files.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure our technology stack is suitable to support employees in the execution of their role.
  • Be the subject matter expert, and owner of the company HR stack, develop and implement performance tracking and review cycle.
  • Responsible for the management and execution of the payroll cycle.
  • Support with the annual salary review process, bonus structure and general employee programs and events.
  • Responsible for the creation, implementation and document control of all related employee documents, including job descriptions and performance review format.
  • Act as a liaison between employees and management to resolve issues relating to grievances, labour relations and non-work-related illnesses.
  • Update and maintain the Employee Handbook.
  • Collaborate with in the company's heath & safety team to support and promote workplace safety initiatives, keep up to date with regulations, best practices and required certifications.
  • Oversee the offboarding process, ensuring smooth transitions and compliance with company protocols.
  • Support company culture initiatives, including organizing employee events and managing employee swag.

Capabilities:
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources CPHR designation considered an asset or working towards it.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience driving an end-to-end HR function and has set the tone for culture in a small to medium sized business.
  • Experience in a customer experience driven business, with hospitality considered an asset.
  • You are resourceful, and willing to roll up your sleeves to make things happen and drive progress forward.
  • You lead with curiosity and understand the importance the role brings to the organization.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion when handling sensitive issues.
  • Collaborate with other team members on the planning of team building, and seasonal events.
  • Proficiency in HR systems, and the Microsoft Office applications.
