However, we have much more to accomplish for our customers, and we're looking for a culturally aligned Data Engineer to join our dynamic team located in Markham.

We are seeking a talented and experienced Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support data-driven decision-making and business intelligence initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, ETL processes, and database management, with a passion for optimizing data workflows and ensuring data quality and integrity.

The Data Engineer will:

1. Data Pipeline Development:
Design, develop, and implement scalable data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into data warehouses or data lakes.
Optimize data pipeline performance for efficiency, reliability, and scalability.

2. Data Modeling and Architecture:
Design and implement data models, schemas, and structures to support business intelligence and analytics requirements.
Develop and maintain data architecture solutions, including databases, data warehouses, and data lakes.

3. ETL Development:

Develop Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to extract data from various sources, transform it into usable formats, and load it into data warehouses or BI platforms.

Implement data cleansing, validation, and enrichment techniques to ensure data quality and integrity.

4. Data Integration and Management:
Integrate data from disparate sources, including databases, APIs, flat files, and streaming data sources, into centralized data repositories.
Implement data integration techniques and tools to ensure data consistency, quality, and integrity.

5. Data Quality Assurance:
Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and error handling mechanisms to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
Develop and maintain data quality metrics and KPIs to monitor and improve data quality over time.

6. Data Analysis, Report and Dashboard Development:
Design and develop interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations that provide insights into key business metrics and KPIs.
Customize reports and dashboards to meet the needs of different user groups and stakeholders.
Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and correlations that drive business decisions and strategies.

7. Performance Optimization:
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and optimization opportunities in data pipelines, databases, and query processing.
Optimize data storage, indexing, and partitioning strategies for improved query performance and resource utilization.

8. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders, to understand data requirements and deliver data solutions.
Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs, provide technical guidance, and ensure alignment with business goals.

To be successful you need:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields.
5 years of experience in data engineering, ETL development, or database management.
Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python, SQL. DAX
Hand-on Experience with data warehousing concepts and technologies (e.g., SQL Server, Google BigQuery, Microsoft Azure, Snowflake, Redshift).
Familiarity with ETL tools and frameworks.
Proficiency in BI platforms and technologies (e.g.. PowerBI service, Looker)
Strong understanding of data modelling, schema design, database optimization techniques, and technologies. (e.g., DBT)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data quality and integrity.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
