Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Specialty: Care Management
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 10-hour shifts, 4 days a week, from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Minimum 3 years required; 5+ years preferred in Utilization Management and Care Management
License: BSN required
Certifications: Preferred certifications include CCM or related certifications
Must-Have:
- Extensive background and knowledge of current medical-surgical patterns of practice and acute inpatient care.
- Proficient in methods for assessing physical and mental impairment, understanding illness characteristics, and expected treatments.
- Knowledge of benefits, plan contracts, and eligibility requirements.
- Experience with EPIC is preferred.
Job Description:
- Utilize a collaborative process to assess, plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate the options and services required to meet patient health needs.
- Use effective communication and available resources to promote quality, cost-effective outcomes for 18-22 patients.
- Address patient needs, manage length of stay, and promote efficient utilization of resources.
- Determine medical necessity and appropriateness of admission using InterQual screening and inpatient list from Medicare.
- Work every sixth weekend.
- No major holidays required.
