Job Summary and Qualifications
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for solid to expert knowledge of Radiation Oncology procedures including physician prescribed simulations for radiation therapy treatment. Performs and delivers a physician-prescribed radiation therapy treatment to patients. Provides technical assistance and supervision to the Radiation Therapist. Plans and schedules work assignments during the shifts ensuring adequate coverage. Communicates effectively and promotes quality patient care to support the Mission Vision and Values of Sky Ridge Medical Center. Ensures facility technical and documentation expectations are consistent with JCAHO regulations and Sky Ridge Medical Center's standards. The Lead Therapist under the Supervision of a Radiation Oncologist, supervises and performs radiation therapy treatment to patients. Calculates proper machine settings and assists physicians with patient care as well as simulations, for treatment planning purposes. Performs and fulfills other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENT: Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. ARRT (T). Current BLS EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent. Graduate of AMA approved school of radiation therapy technology, certified by the American registry of Radiologic Technologist.
EXPERIENCE: Experience in delivering Radiation Therapy Treatments and Simulations. 2 years' experience in Radiation Therapy.
Special Qualification: Skills commensurate with the formal training received. Must be able to operate required treatment machines, computers and the simulator.
