Commercial Lender

The Commercial Lender is responsible for originating, managing, and supervising a portfolio of commercial loans, typically less than $40M, with the overall objective of maintaining and increasing its asset quality. Develops new and existing business relationships.

Specific duties include:

• Taking applications for commercial loan business. Reviewing customer financial condition and assessing the customer's ability to re-pay the loan. Making underwriting decisions within approval authority. Completing or directs completion of all loan documents and closes loans.
• Participating in developing lending and deposit business for the company. Calling on clients to expand existing business; calling on prospects seeking opportunities to expand the company's client base.
• Monitoring existing loan portfolio to maintain a high-quality asset base. Maintaining up-to date client files including current balance sheets, profit & loss statements, cash flow projections and all loan documentation. Maintaining regular contact with existing member base (portfolio) to ensure the Credit Union is meeting the members' financial needs.
• Assisting customers with any loan-related questions and concerns.
• Assisting in collection of past due loans.

Requirements:

• Five to 8 years of similar or related experience.
• A college degree in a related field.
• Commercial Lending experience is preferred, while familiarity with other types of lending may be helpful.
