Speech Language Pathologist/Speech Therapist PRN (SLP)
Progressive Care Unit at Tampa General Hospital - The Progressive Care Unit is a nine bed Unit with an elite team of acute care professionals who treat catastrophically ill, medically complex patients requiring extended acute care. Most patients are ventilator dependent with multiple co-morbidities.Our unique approach significantly improves recovery time, reduces length of stay, and lowers readmissions of these complex patients. The successful candidate will have experience working as a Speech Therapist in a hospital setting, a compassionate and caring attitude and a proven ability to work collaboratively. Speech Language Pathologists are responsible for independently utilizing discretion and judgment to provide age-appropriate services for adult to geriatric patients, including the following: comprehensive assessment of cognitive communication skills and/or swallowing function, direct treatment to individuals as prescribed by a physician, patient/family instruction, participation in team and family conferences and documentation of services according to hospital and department standards. Must possess an understanding of the physical, mental, psychological, and social needs of the patients.

Job Qualifications:
1. Education - Successful completion of an accredited CCC-SLP.
2. Experience - Two years of experience in an acute care setting preferred.
3. Licensure - Current State of Florida SLP licensure
4. Certifications - BLS required
