Responsibilities:

Principal Datacenter Engineering Design Manager will manage the engineering scope, schedule, and budget for greenfield, brownfield andretrofitengineering / designprojects. This position will manage internal and external resources for the delivery of the Datacenter building, power, cooling, telecom, and controls infrastructure to align with Microsoft Corporation datacenter capacity roadmap for the Americas.

Principal Datacenter Engineering Design Manager will be responsible for thefacilitation and deliveryof Microsoft's industry-leading datacenterdesigns including the development of innovative technology and advanced concepts from site due diligence through design development,permitting,construction, and the turnover tooperations.

This role will provide design management, technical direction, decision-making and overall leadershipfor our datacenter designs. To be successful in this role the candidate will overseethedelivery ofmultiple, concurrent,completeDatacenter designsolutionsaligned with the scopes, schedules,and budgetsof the projects.

Principal Datacenter Engineering Design Manager will engage with key MS stakeholder groups withinMicrosoftas well as outside vendorswhospecialize in datacenter architecture and engineering.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering or technical program management
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects
  • 4+ years' experience in all phases of mission critical and high-tech engineering designs (from site due diligence through design development,permitting,construction, and the turnover tooperations).
Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering or technical program management
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects
  • 10+ years' experience in all phases of mission critical and high-tech engineering designs (from site due diligence through design development,permitting,construction, and the turnover tooperations).
Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $135,800 - CAD $253,000 per year.
