RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform technical/engineering tasks to define application databases for software subsystems. Analysis and simulations are performed as necessary to identify design feasibility & driving requirements.
- Prepares specialized signaling design skills, covering one or more of the following:
- Signaling Principles
- Data Requirements
- Block Design
- Application database design
- Prepares and supports customer requirements compliance assessment, and gap analysis.
- Participate in system design work. This would include developing system, subsystem, and interface requirement specifications and performing compliance assessments to customer requirements.
- Interface and build strong working relationships with Software, Hardware and IVVQ groups to ensure timely analysis and resolution of in-house and field test issues and to ensure a good understanding of the Signaling Design.
- Promote a safety culture where product safety is paramount.
- Ensure that safety is built into the design by early identification and resolution of safety related defects.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Systems, Electrical, Computer), Computer Science, or a closely related field
- 3+ years expertise in URS (Urban Rail Signaling) Systems or equivalent educational background
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work under supervision to produce the required artifacts.
- Has a technical curiosity to understand how systems work
- Experience in using DOORS, Polarion, Melody advance, or other system design and requirement management tools is an asset.
- Knowledge of systems engineering principles and practices is an asset.
- Experience in the development of databases used for software development is an asset.
- Understanding of the use of tools to create/verify data for safety critical systems is an asset.
- Rail Signaling knowledge is an asset.
